Capítulo 13: Past Your Bedtime
"If accepting the toys from Uncle Ace made you two argue, I will return them."
Alora looked around and saw her sister, sitting beside the living room window with the toy on her lap.
"No, It's okay."
"Were you two together?" Allison asked, tilling her head for emphasis. "No, we were just friends, sweetheart." Lora patted Ally's head. "It's past your bedtime."
"And it's past yours." Ally pressed her lips together and folded her hands on her lap.
"I know and we will go to sleep."
Her two siblings shared a room with her parents while she had one to herself. Her mum worked as a chef in a restaurant and her dad was a full time florist and mail man. With all of their income, they lived a comfortable life and a comfortable home with no upper part.
Her mind was invaded with the thoughts of Austin. Could he have loved her? No, no. Probably some delusion. He was so rich. He would have any girl he wanted but why her? She saw longing and wasn't sure if her mind was playing tricks on her.
She locked the house door and rushed into her room. It was painted with white and had no stains on the walls. Her bed was at a corner so was her wardrobe and a drawer were she kept some provisions.
The room was simple and she was her mind was forced to think of the splendours mansion that Austin must be living in.
'He got it by killing countless people.' She felt her blood boil as she collapsed on the bed, in a desperate attempt to fall asleep. But she saw desire in his eyes.
Or was it love? What a laugh. That cold blooded murder wouldn't know anything about that four lettered word even though he was supposed to have gone to school. Knowing that word would be a shocking discovery.
She rolled over and stared out the window. The moonlight flooded her room and her mind drifted off to the look in Austin's eyes. 'Why do I feel some connections to him?' Alora said in a soft voice. Someday she would realise why. But what she didn't know was that day was near.
