Chapter 44. Berries
"Hmmm..." Ace stopped in his tracks as he looked at the different stalls with foods.
"CHAHA Captain, now isn't the time to think about food." JoJo laughed.
"... There's a change in plans!" Ace said seriously as he turned towards his Nakama, yet his eyes were still on the different foods of dressrosa.
"Captain, can you not be so obvious?... *Sigh* fine, what's your orders?" Gaga said as she sighed.
"You guys go ahead while I... Investigate this place, so that ya know, we don't get ambushed while attacking Lomingo." Ace said seriously as drool started coming out of his mouth.
He loved fighting and would love fighting Doflamingo, but right now, he couldn't help but to focus on the exotic foods of Dressrosa that smelled so good.
Also, he had felt that Doflamingo had left the castle just a while ago, towards the docks, and Ace felt like his presence was unneeded there so he left the goons to his crew. And when Doflamingo notices the disturbance and chooses to return, Ace will just fight him then.
Although, he could feel that the Haki of three people in the castle are strong... Strong enough to give his companions a good fight...
'ohhh is that sea-king sushi??!'
"NO WE CAN'T CHANGE PLANS! WE NEED ALL THE MANPOWER WE CAN GET!" Leo worriedly disagreed.
He had lived here for all his life, he had seen the power of Donquixote pirates and knew that they aren't to be underestimated.
"Don't worry my crew is strong, JoJo you're in charge! I'll just investigate the different foo... types of soldiers they have here before I help you guys."
*Roar* his stomach started roaring.
"Captain, I should stay and help you with your... Investigation. They say that two mouths.. ehem I mean, two sets of eyes are better than one." Ronaldino Ronaldo said as he patted his round stomach.
"No, no don't worry about me, even though I'm putting myself in grave danger for you guys by going alone, it's my duty as your captain." Ace said, but he had already started walking towards the sushi stall.
"I gues we have no choice." Yennow said as he prepared his yellow afro.
"... Apapapapa No matter what, Our captain wouldnt leave us in real danger.... Right?" Apoo asked as he started getting ideas of running away.
"Chahaha" JoJo laughed it off.
"..." As for Spikewards he started writing his will, just in case something happened.
"Sir how much is a set?" Ace asked politely as he reached the stall.
"700 berries!"
"HAAAA?! 700 berries? Who gave you the guts to sell theses for so much huh?"
"Sir, please, the economic situation of Dressrosa makes it hard on everyone, I can't help but to sell it at that price!" The stall owner felt a bit shame, he had raised the price a bit when he saw that Ace isn't from Dressrosa.
"Well, fine then!" Ace said as he starts chomping down a few sets.
"Sir... You brought enough money... Right?" The stall owner asked worriedly as he saw Ace devour the food.
*NOM NOM* "Sure I did." He answered confidently yet, the stall owner did not feel relieved at all.

"..."
"Sir you ate 6 sets of sushi... That's 700 times 6... Erm... That's 4,200 berries in total." The stall owner said.
"No probs!" Ace said as he reached into his pocket and brought up all the berries he had.
The stall owner saw Ace take out dozens of coins and started counting.
"8, 9, 10... 15... 20... 35... Ah, I only have 73 berries, here you go!" Ace said as he happily handed him his 73 coins.
"..."
"Erm aren't you going to take the berries? In that case, I'll keep it."
The stall owner kept smiling awkwardly, but a vein starter popping on his forehead.
"Alright, thanks for the food, bye now!" Ace was about to walk but he felt a powerfult force reach for him.
Ace dodged the hand and looked back.
The kind looking stall owner was gone and a furious looking stall owner took his place.
"WAHAHAHA don't tell me you want a fight?" Ace laughed.
*This won't be a fight, I'll make stew out of you, then boil you and cook you until you're crispy ugly." The angry stall owner picked dup his big kitchen knife and stabbed Ace.
The knife easily went through Ace, to the point that the stall owner wondered if he had gotten stronger.
"Shihihi, don't tell me I got stronger by doing nothing? Maybe I was born with a superior body... If I train... Could I reach the strength of those four? MWAHAHAHA I'M GOING TO BECOME THE MOST FEARSOME PIRA" *BAAAM*
Ace punched him unconscious.
Looking at the stall owner that was down on the ground with a big bump on his head, Ace felt a bit guilty, afterall, it seemed like the stall owner awakened some kind of grandeur dream, and he just punched him unconscious right at the moment of eureka.
"Erm, stall owner, I want more of your food for free, if you don't want me to take it, please tell me to stop..." Ace said as he went to the stall and picked up all the sushi.
"..."
"What a kind hearted stall owner." He whispered to himself as he carried bags of sushi.
Ace felt happy with himself, truly, pirates are usually the scum of the earth, but here he was, not taking thing s without asking first. A hero of the finest quality.
All the while the stall owner laid on the ground whilst his consciousness had reached the 7th dimension.
Ace started walking to the docks, suddenly, all of Dressrosa felt a small earthquake, the whole islan shook slightly.
"Huh?" Ace then felt with his haki that somewhere underground, a fight had broken loose between many people.
'It must be Cavendish and the Midgets.' Ace realised and readied himself to catch Doflamingo if he should investigate.
The real reason Ace stayed behind was primarily to eat... Ehem... Intercept Doflamingo if he should return., and he did.
Ace could feel the strongest Haki hurriedly returning towards the castle in the middle of Dressrosa. His paths crosses with Ace's location so it was perfect.
Doflamingo realised that something had happened the second Dressrosa started shaking, and he felt with Haki that something abnormal was going underground.
His years of planning and meticulous work had left him with a secret underground Kingdome with riches and power, and he'll protect it with whatever it takes, so before he could finish his work in the docks, he flashed away, towards the castle so he could get an understanding of whats going on.
