"D-drink," a villager said, handing Vol a similar such cup. He looked a rough man for a villager, but his voice still stammered when he spoke to Vol nonetheless. Vol took the jug from him, and downed it in several quick gulps.

"When you're done tending to the soldiers, do the same for the villagers," Vol replied. "You have five minutes before things begin to move again. Tell that Elder of yours. Anything that needs tending should be done before then."

The man paused. He seemed to be about to ask how Vol knew, but a look at Vol's bloodstained armour stopped him. He ended up nodding dumbly, and running off to do as he was told.

"Now then," Vol said, heaving a sigh. His own breath had returned now as well. He'd allowed himself a short few moments. "I suppose I'd better get moving again."
