It was not mere words. Vol was beginning to understand that. This was the very essence of Command. It was the life force that made armies the singularities that they were, and General Ruddock wielded it freely.

His men transformed. Three hundred though they were, and three hundred of the same quality that Vol had already put in the dirt, but with him there, they were like something entirely different.

Vol's infantry rushed to meet them, charging over the already spent corpses of the Stone Hand bowmen. It was a battleground of fire.

On horseback, General Ruddock led at the front, his glaive raised until the very moment before impact, and then it was down, ready to send enemies flying.

Like two giant waves, the forces made contact. Vol was too slow to be at his army's very head. He'd been forced to be right in the middle. With a giant crash, their metal was tested. The Sea Serpents momentum against the furor of the Stone Hand morale.
