Capítulo 22: Chapter 22: A Holy Relic
Morded was currently teaching Meredith magic. She wanted to become a successful mage in order to make her mother proud.
Her goals changed after her fateful meeting with Mordred. Now, she wants fame and glory for herself. Not with the royal family. Especially because she's friends with the rightful king of England.
"Ugh, magic is so complicated!" Meredith complained because human magic uses tons of calculations.
"That's just the way it is. Unless you're a devil or a dragon, you will have to use that system of magic. Unless you're a prodigal genius which is rare. And not just ordinary geniuses. They're rare with ten supers in front." Mordred sighed at her impatience.
"Hah, what do I do then? Can you turn me into a dragon? I don't want to be a devil. Aren't those guys the ones who take souls and ask for your firstborn child?" Meredith raised a brow.
Mordred chuckled at the myths. Well, it was that way a few centuries ago.
"They don't do that anymore. But turning into a dragon huh? I will be honest with you Meredith, you have a sacred gear that is very appealing to me." Mordred informed her because she hasn't awakened it yet.
"A sacred gear? Really? And you're interested?" Meredith blinked, she thought she wasn't anything special.
"Yes, it's a holy sacred gear. And it has a stronger aura than normal, I'd say even stronger than a lot of angels." Mordred hypothesized.
"Woah... So, what's next? Why is this relevant for me using magic?" Meredith tilted her head.
"I can turn you into a dragon Meredith. Well, my mom will. My slots are for godslaying people." He chuckled and she was gobsmacked.
"Wait? Really? You can turn me into a dragon?" Meredith blinked dumbly.
"Yes, do you want to? You'll be crying tears of blood and bleed through your pores because of my mom's training though." Mordred warned her.
He didn't quite understand that Tiamat's training is torture. But he learned through his other friends that Tiamat's training would kill normal people.
Meredith winced... But she suddenly adopted an expression worthy of royalty.
"Then so be it... A small price for greatness." Meredith hardened her expression and he smiled. "Well said, I will introduce you to mom. The Chaos Karma dragon, Tiamat." Mordred teleported them to the underworld.
"Hmm? Ara~ You brought another cute girl. And she has such nice auburn hair." Tiamat eyed her and her aura made Meredith freeze.
"This is my mom, Tiamat. Hello mom, this is Meredith Ordinton. She's that illegitimate child of the fake royal family." Mordred introduced Meredith.
"Ummm, hello?" She didn't know what to say and just waved to Tiamat.
"So, you learn what her sacred gear is?" Tiamat tilted her head and Mordred shook his head.
"I just know that it's strong, a holy artifact perhaps. But I'm sure it's not the true Longinus. It isn't at that level." Mordred shrugged.
"I see, then girl. Think of the strongest thing and clench your butt. Pour out your mana while doing so." Tiamat instructed her.
"Clench my butt? Are you gonna sodomize me?" Meredith got scared and Tiamat blinked. "Guhahaha! She's funny Mordred, no. It's to call your sacred gear. I'll give you some mana too."
Tiamat went up to her and injected her mana inside of her. Meredith then followed the instructions. Thinking of Mordred's Caliburn.
"Uwoah!" She cried out and a bright light emanated from her head.
A crown appeared on her head. It was releasing a divine aura in waves.
"The iron crown of Lombardi..." Tiamat muttered. It was the nails used to crucify Jesus Christ. Then Yahweh forged it with holy fire, turning it into the iron crown of Lombardi.
But he made it into a sacred gear due to the other artifacts concerning Jesus being immensely good materials for sacred gears.
"Alphecca Tyrant... That's the name that entered my head." Meredith was frozen for a second, then she bounced around like Tigger.
She then formed a fiery sword that was glowing white. It had no guard, but the pommel on it was flat. So the thing looked like an oversized nail.
"Ahh, then she's for a knight piece? I'll turn you now alright?" Tiamat inserted her last knight piece inside of her and Meredith formed feathery white wings like Albion's.
But it had iron thorns on it that looked similar to Jesus' famous crown of thorns.
"Woah, I... Feel good~" Meredith was getting drunk in power.
"I'll leave her to you mom, train her hard. Then I'll let her train with Souji later. I'll leave her mother a message." Mordred teleported away.
"Ready? It's time for the ritual for newbies like you." Tiamat grinned.
"R-ritual?" Meredith shuddered, she was having a bad feeling.
"Training of course! We can't let you be a weakling. You're a dragon now, everybody expects you to be strong." Tiamat chuckled at her and Meredith gulped loudly.
Mordred meanwhile, appeared in front of a group of devils; his friends packed up their bags and Rias was bouncing around like a kid in a sugar rush.
"Mordred! You're late! We are going to Kyoto! Aren't you excited? It's the capital of Japan in the past you know?" Rias was bobbing her head left and right in excitement.
"He's not late Rias, Mordred is never late. He's right here on the dot." Seekvaira checked the clock and he appeared right when the longer hand reached 10 o'clock exactly.
"Thank you for waiting for me, shall we?" Mordred was a bit excited to have a little field trip with his friends.
"I don't know why Rias is so pumped about this." Sairaorg was confused.
"Well, we don't either." Sona and Latia replied, giving Rias a weird look.
"You guys are no fun, this is an experience that will be valuable to us. Exploring the world would broaden your horizons." Rias nodded sagely.
But she couldn't hide her grin. But they just shrugged and accepted that it was Rias' quirk.
They teleported to Kyoto and started roaming around. With the red head looking around with stars in her eyes.
Sirzechs and her parents only agreed to the trip because Mordred would be their overseer.
"Where's your kin Mordred?" Seekvaira wanted to see Vali enter her balance breaker. It was similar to a mobile suit, which made her happy.
"They are training hard, while I am ordered by mom to hone my skills. Lavinia is in Grauzauberer, looking for other possible trainers." Mordred shrugged.
"Aww, I wanted to see her scale mail." Seekvaira got disappointed.
"When Ise gets hers, I'll call you immediately." Mordred cheered her up and she smiled.
"Ohh, how can you do that effortlessly Mordred? Whenever I try to compliment Kuisha, she gets quiet." Sai was in awe.
"Well, what are you telling her?" Mordred raised a brow.
"That she has nice legs, capable of running fast and strong kicks." Sai didn't know why she went quiet right after that.
The girls looked at him as if he was stupid. "When you compliment Rias and Tsubaki for having nice backs, they thank you with a happy face." Sai was confused.
"Well, I can't help you there. It just works for me, maybe compliment her magic power?" Morded also didn't know why they were happy with his words.
"It's on the delivery you thug, it also helps that Mordred says it seriously. He stares at you with his bright green eyes. And his golden lashes flutter as he blinks. Along with the mysterious aura he has, kyah!" Rias fidgeted around and the others nodded.
"What?" Sai looked at Mordred and he shrugged. "I have no idea what they're talking about. Women..." Mordred sipped some of his juice that he bought.
"Yeah, women..." Sairaorg cheered with him and they continued their tour around Kyoto.
But while they were roaming, Mordred heard some muffled screaming. It was from a girl, as if she was gagged.
"Wait, there's something wrong." Mordred tuned out everything else and he followed the fast moving suspicious people.
"Follow me, someone is getting kidnapped." Mordred concluded quickly and he disappeared. His every step cratering the ground.
"Hey! Wait! That guy, doesn't he know that he's Uber fast?" Latia sighed and they followed his tracks. He graciously left craters on the ground after all.
Mordred sprinted like the wind, the air hitting his body almost violently.
He sniffed the air and could smell animals. A fox primarily, while the others were unmistakable. "Youkai and crows. The filthy, fallen ones. I can't let them kidnap children." Mordred furrowed his brows and caught up to them.
Mordred could also feel a Satan class being on their trail, but he is closer.
He dropped right in front of a group of a couple of dozen people. There were some kitsune youkai that were being helped by some fallen angels.
"Wha? It's just a kid." One of the fallen angels with 6 wings sneered.
"Fallen angels and Youkai working together to kidnap a child. I can't let you go." Mordred saw a gagged kid that was really young.
"Make it quick, we're being chased. Damn Yasaka, there's protective runes on her so we can't teleport away." One of the youkai growled.
"It's just a kid anyways." The leader of the fallen formed a light spear and threw it at Mordred.
"See? Let's... go." The fallen suddenly couldn't feel his chest. He looked down and there was a gaping hole right where his chest should be.
He then dropped down on the ground like a heap of garbage.
Mordred threw it back at the fallen with breakneck speeds. The others then got shocked and the lead youkai pointed at the girl.
"D-don't come close or she gets it." The guy put a hand on her neck and Mordred growled.
"Trash, you have no honor." Mordred glared at them and he prepared to move quickly.
"Yeah, that's right. Just stay there and don't move. Stay here and give us a holler if he moves!" They abandoned a couple of fallen and some youkai.
Mordred breathed in and he suddenly disappeared. He took the child away and ripped off the arms of the kidnapper who got her.
"You're safe now." Morded smiled at her and the girl nodded at him.
"Now you've done it, I will purge you from this world." Mordred took out the Kusanagi and it hummed with divine energy.
"A... A kami-sama!?" The youkai shouted out in alarm. Feeling the divine energy of the sword. Thinking that he came from Takamagahara.
"Now, burn like the garbage you are." Mordred roared as he swung the blade. The trees surrounding them splitting in two as they fell with heavy thuds.
"Oi! What the hell happened here!?" Sairaorg arrived first, being the most physically fit.
"Some youkai and crows were roaming around here." Mordred snorted.
"Ohh, nice. Did they have any strong ones?" Sairaorg was disappointed that he didn't get a fight.
"Nothing special, the strongest was a 6 winged fallen. You can't deal with him yet, but with all of you together? You definitely would've killed him." Mordred didn't think the fallen would be a challenge for them.
"Hngh!" The girl wiggled around in his arm. "Ahhh, I forgot that you are gagged." Mordred took off her restraints and the girl breathed a sigh of relief.
"T-thank you sir... I'm Kunou, a kyuubi." The girl introduced herself and Mordred did so as well.
Right after a huge nine tailed fox dropped down in front of them. "Unhand her!" The kyuubi shouted, her rage sweltering.
"Mom! He saved me! Look around." Kunou pointed at the bisected corpses and the kyuubi looked at them warily.
"She's your mom? Then go to her." Mordred dropped her down gently and the girl ran to the fox.
A shining light glowed and the kyuubi turned into a humanoid youkai. (pic)
"T-thank you for saving my daughter, I'm Yasaka. The leader of the youkai here in western Kyoto." Yasaka bowed at them.
"It's fine, I just felt that a kidnapping was underway. So I had to stop it." Mordred shrugged.
"Hah, hah. You guys shouldn't just run away like that!" Sona complained. She was bad at physical activity. Which Mordred will have to change later.
"Your friends?" Yasaka looked at them warily. "Yes, we were touring Kyoto when that guy suddenly started running." Rias pointed at Mordred.
"This... This will be paid back, I am in your debt. Please, come with me and I'll prepare you a feast at least." Yasaka gestured for them to follow.
They looked at Mordred because it might be a trap. You never know after all. "Okay, mom did tell me to make more connections."
Everybody followed Yasaka to their territory which is hidden by a barrier. "Welcome to Ura-Kyoto." Yasaka raised her arms and they saw tons of youkai roaming around.
