After a night in the hospital, Alla's high fever had completely subsided. Although her body was still weak, there was no need to stay in the hospital. She asked Maggie to settle the hospital fees, and they completed the discharge procedures and returned home.
As soon as they arrived, Maggie started bustling around the kitchen. Alla wanted to help, but Maggie wouldn't let her. "You just go and rest properly; leave this to me," Maggie shooed her away.
Alla's fever had subsided, but her condition of heart failure had worsened. She felt pain in her heart, dizziness in her head, and an overall lack of strength. Even standing was a struggle. Seeing Maggie busy in the kitchen, she reluctantly obeyed and went back to her room.
After lying down on the bed, she thought about sleeping, but her phone on the bedside table buzzed with a new message. It was from a celebrity news account she followed. During her time with Casiano, she wasn't very aware of his schedule. Seeing him occasionally featured in the news, she started following some accounts.
Opening the message, she saw that the paparazzi had captured Casiano carrying Ella into the emergency room. The news reported that the two were rekindling an old romance. As she scrolled down, all the comments were complimenting the couple's looks and backgrounds, claiming they were a perfect match.
Alla agreed, the man was cold and noble, the woman was elegant and gracious. They indeed matched each other perfectly. She gave a bitter smile, swiped away the message, and was about to switch off her phone when she noticed an unread message.
Opening the message from an unknown number, it read: What were you doing at the hospital? Alla was taken aback. How did this person know she was at the hospital? She checked the time; it was sent last night, right after she woke up in the hospital...
Alla stared at the message, hardly believing it. The only person she encountered at the hospital last night was Casiano. Could it be him? Her hand trembled as she typed two words, "Who are you?"
She didn't expect the other party to reply so quickly. The next second, the reply came: "Answer me." Alla stared at the three words, her heart pounding. The cold tone was very much like Casiano's, yet her intuition told her that Casiano would never send such a message. Alla frowned, holding her phone as she typed, "Who are you really?"
This time the other party was silent for a long time. Nearly an hour later, the message arrived, "Billie." Alla's heart, which had been trembling, suddenly relaxed. She thought it was Casiano but didn't expect it to be Billie.
However, Billie's phone number was not this one. Had he changed it again? Alla thought about it and felt something was wrong. She directly dialed the number. The other party didn't answer but hung up and sent her a message saying, "In a meeting."
Alla thought about the message and felt uneasy. She mustered the courage to dial Billie's work number. This time he picked up quickly but his voice was very low and he sounded impatient, "I'm in a meeting, what is it?!" Alla didn't expect him to really be in a meeting and quickly hung up after saying 'nothing.'
What a lunatic, sending her messages from an unknown number while in a meeting. Alla dismissed it, thinking of how Billie used to harass her with different numbers. She didn't think much of it, put down her phone, and decided to ignore him. But then another message came in.
It was back to the first question, "Answer me, why did you go to the hospital?" Alla felt he was crazy. He had just called and didn't say anything, but he had to send a message.
She didn't want to bother with him, but she was also afraid that if she didn't comply, it would irritate him. So she gritted her teeth and typed, "Had a high fever, went to the hospital for an IV." She thought he would ask more questions, but he didn't bother her anymore.
Alla considered him having a nervous breakdown, put down her phone, and fell into a weak sleep.
