When Alexander opened the door of the bathroom after taking a shower, he saw Evangeline sprawled on the bed on her stomach with her legs spread like an unruly child and couldn't help but chuckle at her.

Stupid girl. He whispered in his mind before walking to the bed and evening her position. He turned her swiftly, evening her bathrobe before covering her with a warm comforter.

Seeing her flushed face because of the fever, he couldn't help but think how cute she looked even like this. He bent and placed a soft kiss on her cheeks, his heart aching slightly.

Honestly, he didn't know what he was feeling in his heart.

He always thought that his growing affection for this girl was all because she intrigued him, was haughty, and mainly because she saved his life, but after caring for her for today like a baby, the fear he felt in his heart at the thought of losing her or something happening to her, he had never thought that his feelings were growing so deep.
