91.66% Is It Wrong to Serve Justice in the Dungeon? / Chapter 11: The Quippish Mage and The Stoic Swordswoman

Capítulo 11: The Quippish Mage and The Stoic Swordswoman

In the tense silence of the alleyway, the mysterious newcomer who had just saved my life became the center of attention.

Before us stood a young girl with long golden hair and mischievous golden eyes. She donned a mage's robe and wielded a magic staff. I eventually realize it was Althea Wallenstein, a new recruit of the Loki Familia.

The hooded assailants appeared bewildered and annoyed, uncertain how to handle this unexpected interference. One of them finally demanded, "Who are you, and what business do you have here?"

Althea flashed a sly grin. "Oh, come on now. No need to be so formal. I'm just your friendly neighborhood mage, stopping by for a chat and perhaps a little magic show."

Her response caught the hooded figures off guard, and they exchanged puzzled glances, clearly not accustomed to such a quippish remark from their adversaries.

"We are the Evils, and you've stumbled upon something you shouldn't have," the assailant growled, trying to assert authority.

Althea arched an eyebrow, feigning concern. "Oh my, the Evils? Is that what you call yourselves? I must say, it sounds a bit cliché, don't you think?"

The hooded assailants looked taken aback by the mage's audacity, and it seemed to fuel her playful spirit even more.

As I observed the scene, my emotions were a whirlwind of relief and anxiety. Althea's confidence was intriguing, but I knew we were still outnumbered and facing a dangerous situation.

In a hushed voice, I whispered to her, "Psst, Hey. I don't think these people take your teasing lightly."

"Oh, please. If they can't handle a little teasing, I doubt they can handle a well-aimed spell," Althea retorted, waving her staff playfully.

While conversing, one of the hooded assailants, infuriated by her remarks, suddenly lunged at Althea with his dagger.

"How dare you ridicule us!!" the assailant shouted as he was about to attack.

However, before the dagger could reach her, someone jumped in front of Althea, parrying it with ease.

It was another girl with golden hair, wearing light armor and wielding a sword. I soon recognized her as Ais Wallenstein, the other new recruit of the Loki Familia.

The assailant was surprised that his attack was parried. "What the heck?!"

"You're slow," Ais coldly said before proceeding to slash the assailant with her sword.

The attack hit the assailant across the chest, causing him to stumble backward while screaming in pain.

My heart skipped a beat when she swiftly dispatched the assailant who had dared to attack Althea. The realization that both sisters were here, standing against these evildoers, filled me with awe and concern.

"Oh, look who's gracing us with her presence," Althea said, her grin widening. "It's my dear sister, always the life of the party."

Ais remained stoic, her sword at the ready, focusing solely on the task at hand.

The other hooded assailants, now faced with two formidable adversaries, hesitated for a moment. But Althea, who seemed to enjoy the chaos, wasn't about to let them off the hook.

"Well, are we all just going to stand here and pretend to be a bunch of statues? Or are we going to get this party started with some real action?" she taunted, a wicked glint in her eye.

With that final provocation, the hooded figures became enraged and charged at the two golden-haired adventurers, who were more than ready to put on a show of magical spells and swordplay.

As the battle erupted, Althea's mischievous smirk grew wider, adding to the intrigue of the situation. With a theatrical flourish, she raised her staff and chanted, "Ignis et Lux, Arcane Bolt!"

A bolt of crackling energy shot out from the staff's tip, flying with uncanny precision towards the charging assailants. It hit one of them square in the head, causing them to stumble backward with a yelp of pain.

"Boom, headshot!" Althea exclaimed, her tone filled with playful satisfaction.

The unexpected attack seemed to unnerve the other hooded assailants, and they exchanged uneasy glances, unsure how to handle the unpredictable mage and the stoic swordswoman before them.

Ais, with a fierce glint in her eyes, closed in on the nearest assailant. Her sword moved with lethal grace, dispatching one after another with ruthless efficiency.

Meanwhile, Althea continued to unleash her spells with flair and humor, her magical prowess undeniable. Each magic attack that flew from her staff found its mark, hitting the assailants with pinpoint accuracy.

While the fight unfolded, Maryuu grabbed my hand and whispered, "Kiara, we should hide somewhere safe. Let them handle this."

Nodding in agreement, I followed her as we carefully made our way to a nearby stack of crates, out of sight from the ongoing battle.

From our hiding spot, we watched in awe as the sisters continued to fend off the hooded assailants with their incredible skills and playful banter.

As the attackers grew increasingly disoriented and fearful, Althea couldn't resist throwing in a few more witty comments.

"Is this the best you've got? Come on, I've seen goblins put up more fight than this!" she teased while playfully twirling her staff.

The hooded assailants, now struggling to maintain their composure, made a desperate attempt to retreat. But Ais and Althea were relentless, closing in on them with a fierce determination.

With each step, the Wallenstein sisters demonstrated their strength and prowess as adventurers. It was a sight to behold, and I couldn't help but be inspired by their unwavering courage.

After the last of the hooded figures fled, Althea let out a hearty laugh. "And that's how you deal with unwanted guests!"

Ais simply nodded, her stoic expression revealing nothing but the adrenaline that must have been coursing through her veins.

Maryuu and I exchanged glances, both impressed by the Wallenstein sisters' abilities and grateful for their timely intervention.

"Those two are a force to be reckoned with," Maryuu remarked with a hint of admiration.

I nodded, feeling a sense of pride in knowing that they were now allies in the fight against the Evils. With the Wallenstein sisters by our side, I had faith that we could face whatever challenges lay ahead.

--------------------------------------------------

Once the dust settled and the danger dissipated, the two golden-haired adventurers stood victorious. After that, Althea turned her attention to the stack of crates where Maryuu and I were hiding.

"Alright, you two can come out now," she called out with a playful grin.

We both emerged from our hiding spot, still in awe of them for saving us. Gratitude filled my heart as I stood before them.

"Thank you both for coming to our aid," I said, my voice filled with sincerity. "We owe you our lives."

Althea shrugged nonchalantly, as if saving people was just another day's work for her. "Eh, no big deal. We couldn't just stand by and watch, you know?"

"You both are injured. Please, let me repay you by healing your wounds," Maryuu said as she noticed the wounds of the two sisters.

At first, they seemed hesitant, but Althea chimed in, "Well, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to accept someone's offer."

With their consent, Maryuu focused her magic and chanted, "By the power of light, let wounds mend and strength ascend, Rea Vindemia."

A warm glow enveloped the two sisters as the healing magic took effect, soothing their injuries. But to my surprise, the magical energy also extended to me, and I felt my own wounds from the earlier skirmish being mended.

"Wow, nice trick you got there," Althea remarked with a grin. "I guess I'll add healing magic to my bucket list of spells to learn."

Once the healing process was complete, they expressed their thanks, the former nodding stoically while the latter grinned from ear to ear.

"Well, thanks again for the patch-up," Althea said cheerfully. "But we should get going now before our strict vice-captain finds out what we're up to and gives us a stern lecture. See ya~"

With a light-hearted farewell, the two of them departed, disappearing into the bustling street.

Maryuu and I stood there for a moment, still in awe of the Wallenstein sisters' skills and bravery. They were even more impressive in person, and I couldn't help but feel a renewed sense of hope with them on our side.

"They really know how to handle themselves," Maryuu said with admiration.

I nodded, feeling a surge of determination. "Yeah, and with them around, I know we are able to face whatever challenges come our way."

With newfound confidence and the memory of what happened today, Maryuu and I left the alleyway, our steps resolute as we headed back to our base to share our encounter with the rest of the Familia.
