VANCE’S POV
Four weeks later, I went back to work in the Washington DC office.
I had moved out of Grandma’s villa to the new house that Killian bought in Washington DC. Forcefully moving my things from New York and Grandma’s house into his, he gave no explanation or excuse for his behavior.
Grandma was the first one to support him. “Child. You are just a young couple. You need your own space. Stop being stubborn and do what he says,” she had said, raising her hand to dismiss whatever I had prepared to bargain with her.
Arran and Maurice grinned while Killian winked at me knowing full well he had gotten his way.
Leaning back in the office chair, I caught up on the emails and the appointment of forensic Captain Ace as the deputy director of the New York office. Arran sat in the corner of my office sipping coffee while pretending to be busy.
“Why aren't you in your office?” I asked, turning to him.
“Killian’s orders,” he shrugged.
