Capítulo 12: Chapter 12: Lovesick

I was irked and irritated a week later since Director Vance was ghosting me. Calls went unanswered and every attempt I made to contact him was blocked.

I found myself at the entrance of the CIA building and Director Vance alighted his escalade and walked into the building. His legs stopped short, and he turned around to scan the area.

Director Vance’s senses were awesome as I watched him until his eyes landed on me, widening in surprise. I saw the smirk on his face and then he turned around and walked away.

I took out my phone and dialed his number. Surprisingly, he answered, and his first words were, “Stalker? I can have you arrested for this.”

“Then I will announce to the whole of New York that I am taken by the new Director of the CIA.”

He sighed. “What did I expect from a criminal like you?”

“Love and affection,” I responded with a laugh.

“You are delusional, Daxia. You do know that I will catch you sooner or later?”
