Capítulo 6: Field Boss
Noah maintained his calm. His eyes never left the monster as well as the haystack.
The wall of air had dimmed when the boar focused on chasing him. It was now only a bit taller than him.
In exchange, the bear got faster.
"This bastard is using wind magic to increase his speed!" Noah realized what was happening.
But that wasn't the end of his pains.
The haystacks were disappearing thanks to the swirling wall of air. Noah had to be quick or he could forget about his one-time Exp farm!
Gritting his teeth, Noah made his choice.
He spun around and dashed straight toward the monster.
The molotov failed to burn the haystack. But it started a small fire on the ground outside the air wall.
If Noah could take the monster there, the fire would distract it. Giving Noah an opening to use his 2nd molotov. It was clear that the bear had a limited amount of wind magic.
SWISH!!!
The air ripped apart as the monster swiped its claws. Noah ducked at the last second, dodging the attack by a hair's breadth.
He felt his back being torn from the wind pressure.
[ You have lost 20 HP ]
A damage notification appeared.
'The claws are also wrapped with wind magic!'
Noah could tell. Winning was impossible.
If so, he had to burn the haystack. That way, he would gain exp if the wildfire spread, even after death.
Noah ran to the clearing with all his might. The bear on his tail. His brain went into overdrive as he searched for a way out.
ROARRRR!!!
Suddenly, Noah rolled.
SWISSSH!!!
Three massive air slashes passed over his head. The wind arcs were almost as large as the bear.
The ground exploded as the attack struck down.
In that moment, a current sparked in Noah's head. He felt as if electricity was zipping through his brain and the world slowed down.
He saw the earth shattering in slow motion and the bear almost upon him.
As if driven by instincts, Noah pulled Knife-Beaks from his satchel before throwing them at the bear.
With his other hand, he picked the last molotov.
He lit the molotov using the ground fire and flung it at the bear.
The bear deflected the sharp beaks of Knife-billed Ducks with wind magic when suddenly, the molotov exploded in its face.
[ -10 HP ]
Dust and dirt covered the monster's vision.
While this was happening, Noah was already running toward the haystack. Time was still flowing slowly for him.
If he had to explain, it was as if hundreds of mini-explosions were happening in his head. And everything felt clear and light.
Noah could feel his ravaging heartbeat, his tense nerves, in this state.
ROARRRR!!!!
The bear launched air slashes while blinded.
Noah continued fearlessly. Even though he was much weaker, he felt stronger. It was contradictory. But that's how he felt.
He picked the burning branches lying on the ground and rolled to avoid the attack.
The winds slashed passed overhead.
Noah shielded the burning branches with his body, jumped over the wall of air….

[ Alert! Your remaining HP is less than 10%! ]
…and dove into the haystacks!
The haystacks lit up instantly. A blazing fire engulfed it as soon as the flames touched the haystacks.
The mountain of hay turned into an inferno which illuminated the dim night.
A pothole in the ground, which was blocked by the haystack, caught fire. The flames traveled underground through it and the crude oil reservoir beneath the Coniferous Forest Town exploded.
BOOOOOOOMMM!!!
Cracks spread on the ground as it rose unevenly. Trees toppled over and magma spewed out.
Noah's deduction was correct. Five mountain haystacks spread across the forest covered the five openings of the underground air passage.
The air passageways were filled with volatile gasses. They were also connected to the crude oil reservoir.
Noah's actions caused a chain reaction.
And a catastrophic wildfire began.

Cough! Cough!
Noah's dry throat stung when he tried to speak.
His whole body was screaming in pain and he could feel flames burning him. However, it was bearable.
"Pfffft who knew I would be thankful for being bullied one day. At least it gave me high pain tolerance."
Noah could barely think straight. Just moving a bit was sending jolts of pain coursing through his limbs.

A cool sensation covered Noah. His injuries were healed and the pain disappeared.

The flames rushed and started burning him again.
Noah clenched his jaw and forced himself to stand. He was being healed thanks to level ups but if he didn't move, he would continue taking damage.
With every level-up, the total required exp for the next level was increasing. Each level-up would take longer than the previous one.
The flames damaging him and the exp gained were in a delicate balance that kept Noah alive. However, it would soon break.
"There should be a safe area nearby." muttered Noah while coughing.
If this was how the wildfire started then every player who started the wildfire would die. It was putting the cart before the horse as dying would result in loss of exp, level and items.
There was no way developers would develop a game like this…
"Ah they are the same devs behind those swindlers. I wouldn't put it beyond them, creating an awful one-time exp farm like this."
Noah couldn't understand how he survived the first explosion.
That explosion should've been enough to do him in. He had only 9 HP left after fighting the field boss.
He ignored the constant exp messages he was gaining, along with HP reduction warnings, and checked the previous logs.

The Hidden Boss was living in the underground crude reservoir.
If the players didn't blow up the reservoir and decided to extract oil, they needed to face the hidden boss.
When the reservoir exploded, the hidden boss died first. Providing Noah with 5 levels which saved his life.

"Hahahaha! This is what I call leveling up!" roared Noah.
Among the seas of flames, Noah noticed the 'small' mountain surrounded by winds.
The wisps of air protected the Field Boss against the flames.
As Noah walked closer, the winds died. The bear had created a small area devoid of flames.
However, it was half-burnt and barely holding to its life.
It slowly rose its head to stare at Noah as if asking him to end its suffering. Noah climbed over its towering physique and used his AP.
[ Strength: 10 → 15 ]
Noah plunged his blade into its head.

Suddenly, a golden screen appeared.
