We sat down by the table, facing each other.
"Ahem, alright then," I cleared my throat. "What would you like to drink? Gin? Or maybe wine?" I tried to guess. I think that something plain but classy would suit her more than any of those complicated cocktails some people seemed to like.
However, she shook her head. "A tea or coffee would be great. I don't drink alcohol."
I raised my eyebrows. "Don't drink alcohol? Like, at all?"
"Yes. I've never had it." She reached for the menu standing on the side, and started looking through non-alcoholic options.
I was quite surprised. I knew that she was stiff and professional, at least when she was with me, but still… "How old are you?" I couldn't help but ask.
"22," she answered curtly, not lifting her sight from the drink card.
"Then you're already legal. How come you've never even tried?"
