Capítulo 393: Chapter 393: The Terrifying Spell That Destroys Empires

Garon refused Isaac's offer to teach him magic.

"My magical prowess is not much inferior to yours," Garon stated.

When it came to his area of expertise, Isaac straightened up and responded, "Is that so? Apart from your innate time-related abilities, what magic do you know? What's the effect of your strongest spell? Don't underestimate me. I'm a dragon of magic, the rainbow dragon, legendary among dragon species for my magical proficiency. If I dedicate time and effort, I can unravel any spell's construction and master it swiftly."

As a rainbow dragon, Isaac's strongest magic was light-based, but he had dabbled in other types too.

Hearing Isaac's confident claim, Garon bluntly retorted, "Your best spell, does it mean those that can't even breach my defenses?"

With a look of disdain, the silver dragon added, "All flash and no substance."

As if a sword had pierced his heart, Isaac's face fell, and he fell silent.

"That's not how you should put it," Isaac muttered, his voice much weaker in the face of reality. "At least it looks impressive, right?"

Garon looked at him with pity and shook his head, choosing not to continue the argument.

"Never mind about me. You think my magic is useless, but what magic do you know?" Isaac fumed.

During their earlier fight, Garon had not used any magic. Long ago, when Garon's mastery over time-related abilities was limited, he primarily used magic in combat, with time abilities as a supplement. Now, the roles had reversed; magic was merely a tool for him.

Time stop, void status, time burst, time split, vanishing moments—Garon's core abilities all revolved around time. However, that didn't mean he had abandoned the path of magic.

"The magic I know," Garon's gaze narrowed as he looked towards the forest beyond the magic academy. He quietly recited a spell, and magic surged within him.

Whoosh! A sweep of his dragon wing unleashed a gray-white curtain of light that descended on the distant forest.

Isaac looked on. Under his gaze, the area covered by the gray-white light instantly withered. The lush trees lost their luster, turning dry and broken, and some affected wild beasts and magical creatures turned to dust.

"A simple withering spell, is that all?" Isaac said almost dismissively.

Garon chuckled. "A withering spell? Take a closer look."

Puzzled, Isaac looked again. He noticed that beneath the obvious lethal withering force, the spell also contained a vibrant essence of life.

After turning an area into dead land, the gray-white curtain didn't dissipate but returned, carrying a surge of life force back into Garon's body.

"This is…"

Isaac furrowed his brow.

"Immortality spell. Mortals can achieve eternal life through this spell. Do you know it? I know many such powerful spells."

To an immortal like Garon, an immortality spell was merely nourishing, transforming some magic, but for mortals, it was divine.

"Immortality spell," Isaac murmured, visibly intrigued.

His longing for magical knowledge as a rainbow dragon was far greater than Garon's.

His eyes brightened, and then looking at Garon, he thickened his skin and asked, "Brother Garon, can you teach me?"

Isaac was an adult rainbow dragon, over a hundred years old.

Garon, if counted by the main timeline, was younger than Isaac, but if all the time spent across various timelines were summed up, he would be older.

"I can, but not for free," Garon replied.

"We can exchange knowledge. As the headmaster of the Blazing Dominion Academy, you must know many fire spells. I'm quite curious about them."

The wind and fire spells of the Alpha Tia Empire could not only be taught to his own fire spell lineage in the main timeline but could also be used by himself.

Isaac pondered. "The magic academy's spell tomes, technically, shouldn't be taught to non-citizens of the empire."

Pausing, he lifted his head proudly, "But I am the headmaster. What I say goes here."

Appointing a dragon as the headmaster of a magic academy meant one shouldn't expect the dragon to follow all the rules too strictly.

Garon and Isaac exchanged a look and happily reached an agreement.

Isaac Academy, Library.

The library, shaped like a giant cube, stood in the middle of the academy. The walls around were branded with simplified portraits of Isaac, and students and instructors frequently entered and exited.

The library, which didn't seem large from the outside, contained a twisted space within. Stepping inside, one found nearly endless shelves neatly arranged on the mirror-smooth, bright floor.

The shelves, made of fine redwood, were thick and frag

rant, invigorating the spirit.

Tables and chairs were placed between the shelves for students to rest and read.

A few students selected spell books they needed, then gathered around a table, somewhat distractedly starting a conversation.

Because of the silence spells around the tables, their chatter didn't disturb others in the library.

"Have you attended a magic lecture by Instructor Garon?"

"I have. This dragon instructor's fine control over fire elemental energy is truly breathtaking."

"Yes, especially his elemental shaping. I didn't understand much, but it was impressive."

The students were very enthusiastic when discussing the new dragon instructor. Isaac Academy was already known for having a dragon as its headmaster, and now with the addition of a mysterious dragon instructor, many students were curious.

"Compared to Instructor Garon, the spellcasting skills of other instructors seem quite poor. It's a pity that Instructor Garon rarely holds lectures, and they're always fully booked."

"Of course, it's said that Instructor Garon is a supreme law-level true dragon, a planar traveler. He probably won't stay long at Isaac Academy."

"And he's not just any supreme law. I've heard students say that even Headmaster Isaac seems quite subservient in front of Instructor Garon, and Headmaster Isaac is a demigod true dragon."

"Really? Headmaster Isaac acting subservient?"

"Maybe it's just a rumor."

"..."

"Alright, let's start studying. Let's work hard for our future academic papers."

To graduate from the magic academy with an official fire magic certification, one needed not only sufficient spellcasting levels but also an academic paper on fire magic.

Due to the Alpha Tia Empire's long heritage, ancient academic papers had covered nearly all aspects.

Coming up with something new was challenging.

Many students, aiming to graduate, chose to skim through old papers, cobble their contents together, and then produce a fresh paper. The instructors turned a blind eye to this, as long as the papers weren't too outrageous.

Graduates from Isaac Academy were all considered high-level spellcasters.

Time passed quietly.

The atmosphere in the library was calm and conducive to concentration.

But it also made it easy to become distracted.

"Eh?"

"Look, isn't that Instructor Garon?"

Their study session had barely started when it was interrupted.

Following the speaker's gaze, several students looked at a young man.

He was a calm, handsome youth with waist-length silver hair. His handsome face featured a pair of platinum pupils shining like stars.

He was quietly reading a spell book, with light streaming through a window and illuminating his profile, making it seem to glow with an enigmatic light.

What was most captivating was his unique aura.

Like an ancient breeze that had traveled through the veils of time to the present, it seemed like an echo from a distant future, stirring ripples of time and merging seamlessly with the moment.

"Wow, it really is Instructor Garon."

"Should we go say hello to Instructor Garon?"

"Let's not. He seems very focused. Let's not disturb him."

A few junior students peeked at Garon while whispering amongst themselves.

"What do you think, who looks better in human form, Headmaster Isaac or Instructor Garon?"

"Headmaster Isaac... he's always flaunting his beauty, wanting everyone to know how beautiful he is. I'm sick of it. I declare, Instructor Garon is now my dream dragon."

"To be fair, Headmaster Isaac looks better, flawlessly beautiful, androgynous in human form, but he's just too narcissistic, lacking any real substance."

"..."

These whispered exchanges, though contained within a silencing barrier, did not escape Garon's ears.

The magic academy's facilities were built to human scale, and for convenience, Garon occasionally used his human form to move around and had once held a magic lecture in that form, so he was recognized by the students.

The students' discussion did not affect Garon.

He was deeply engrossed in the book he was reading, which after a while, he closed thoughtfully.

The cover of the closed book displayed the title.

[Resonant Casting]

A joint casting method known to the spellcasters of the Alpha Tia Empire.

Bloodline resonance, gathering magical power on a large scale to simultaneously cast a spell, can infinitely amplify the power of the spell.

"The triumphant wind vortex that fills the cosmos is a product of the wind mages' resonant casting."

Resonant casting, an ancient practice developed by the wind mages, is something they excel at.

"A method with limitless potential. Although it requires the Alpha bloodline, its benefits far outweigh this limitation."

Garon gave a fair assessment.

The unrestricted amplification of spell power alone was formidable enough.

A wind spell capable of affecting an entire star system was made possible through resonant casting, showcasing its powerful effects.

"Once I return to the main timeline, I must teach this to my fire spell lineage."

Garon thought quietly.

Having memorized the content on resonant casting, he returned the book to its place.

In the Alpha Tia Empire, resonant casting was not considered a precious secret art because it required a large number of casters to use it; it was just a casting method.

Many of the Alpha spellcasters, especially the wind mages, knew how to use resonant casting.

At the moment, the fire mages, known for their volatile nature, tended to create conflicts among themselves and disliked group cooperation, scoffing at resonant casting.

"If nothing goes wrong, the main material world of Alpha Tia, including the main star, satellite worlds, and many unclaimed planets, will ultimately be destroyed by resonant casting."

The wind mages could create masterpieces like the triumphant wind vortex through resonant casting.

Thus, using resonant casting to construct a world-ending wind capable of affecting an entire cosmic system was also feasible.

"However, to use such a power, the wind mages must have reached the point of absolute hatred for the fire mages and possess no affection for their own empire, showing no mercy to their homeland."

Based on what he now knew.

Although the wind and fire mages didn't get along, both were proud to be citizens of the Alpha Tia Empire and unlikely to destroy their own empire.

"What happened to make the wind mages completely despair of the Alpha Tia Empire?"

Garon sorted through the information he had, pondering quietly.

At that moment.

Footsteps approached slowly.

A strong draconic aura filled the library.

Garon turned his head.

In his view was a young man dressed in exceedingly lavish attire.

He wore a rainbow-light emitting multicolored robe, and his eyes, including his wind-stirred long hair, also shimmered with changing rainbow colors. His wrists, neck, earlobes, and hair were adorned with gems, crystals, and agates that jingled softly and glowed faintly as he moved.

It was Isaac in human form.

At first glance, one couldn't discern Isaac's gender; his features were exquisitely androgynous.

"Brother Garon, do I look beautiful?"

Isaac spread his arms, twirled to show off his outfit, and asked.

Watching Isaac's attire, Garon's heart involuntarily quickened.

Though he was reluctant to admit it, Isaac was indeed flawless in draconic aesthetics, captivating even to the same sex.

"Mediocre," Garon averted his gaze and commented.

Isaac shook his head, then proudly said, "You're not being honest. If you don't think I'm beautiful, why can't you look me in the eye?"

Garon glanced at Isaac and retorted, "How about I throw you into the abyss? The demons there would definitely appreciate your beauty."

Isaac hurriedly replied, "Just kidding, just kidding. Don't take it seriously."

Then, Isaac began to ask Garon for guidance on some arcane spells.

"What runes exactly need to be constructed here for the World Weaving spell?"

"How can the spell model for the Immortality Spell be constructed more effectively and simply?"

Meanwhile, Garon also inquired about some high-tier fire magic casting techniques from Isaac.

As spellcasters, when exchanging magical knowledge, Isaac was quite serious and could engage in effective communication.

After a while.

The exchange on spellcraft concluded, and Isaac and Garon took a break, engaging in casual conversation.

Isaac was curious about Garon's background and the current state of time dragons. Garon selectively answered some of his questions and similarly learned much about rainbow dragons from Isaac.

Like the Force dragons, rainbow dragons also had a tribe.

Moreover, when a young rainbow dragon faced danger, it could seek help from the ancient rainbow dragons. According to Isaac, a sufficiently powerful rainbow dragon could also teleport across time and space.

The essence of a rainbow dragon's divine power is light.

The essence of a Force dragon's divine power is strength.

These powers ultimately lead to the river of time, affecting the flow of time, such as Isaac creating time stops through the motion of light.

Garon felt there seemed to be a special connection between the three legendary dragon species.

While chatting, Garon recalled something Isaac had mentioned earlier.

"By the way, you said you and Chris share similar interests."

"What interests?"

Garon asked.

Upon hearing Garon's question, Isaac paused, then looked at Garon intently. After hesitating for a moment, he slowly responded.

"To witness the fall of glorious things."
