Capítulo 37: Chapter 37
"So how was the a paper?" Cardan asked Noa who was sitting across from him on the lunch table.
Noa raised her head to him after chewing her food "It was surprisingly very good, I expected it to be harder honestly" Noa replied confidentially.
"As expected from Noa" Brianna said as she sent Noa a smile before sighing "I just hope my tests will be just be as easy"
"Don't worry I know you'll do well Anna you're super talented" Noa said.
Cardan rolled his eyes as he went back to his lunch as he waited for Zaden to return from the vending machine.
Unlike the business/commerce and science stream the art stream gave the students projects that had to do with what they where studying. If you wanted to be an actress you would be given 5 different plays and out of this five one would be chosen you wouldn't know what it was until the last day between all the five. Sometimes it would be a mixture of the two you read about.
Music was the same as well as dance. If you weren't talented and hard working you would fail the test and unfortunately if you didn't come from a atleast high income household there was a lesser chance of you passing.
This was because this classes often happened in the studios that the school rented at the city. And you had to pay more school tuition then those who do business and science stream. Of course unless you win a scholarship that only pays for your school fees for 2 years.
But other then that it seemed like a difficult stream all together. But that didn't mean that Cardan sympathised with Brianna. Hell the girl could drop dead and he'd be worried about his nonexistent cat. And he didn't even like cats.
"Sorry for taking time the line was a bit too long" Zaden said as soon as he arrived at the table.
Cardan nodded at him as he couldn't speak due to food being in his mouth. Zaden took out two packs of snacks and handed one to Cardan before opening his lunch box. According to him the school's food had been posioned by flies.
"Thanks" Cardan said as he put the pack away. He would eat it after he was finished with his lunch.
"Hey what about me?" Noa said as she glared at Zaden. Meanwhile Zaden rasied an eyebrow at her "What about you?" a snort left Cardan's lips no matter how hard he tried to contain it.
"You still owe me from six months ago" Noa stated.
Zaden stopped eating before becoming eye level with her "I'll give you back next time when I have money, plus why didn't you remind me?" Zaden said in his usual monotone voice as if Noa was at fault.
"You can just give me the damn snacks, I'm craving them either way and from what I remember their the same price as the money I gave y-" Noa was cut off by a tearing sound.
Before anyone at the table could follow the sound Zaden let out forced coughs "Oops looks like I coughed on it and some of my spit fell on it. But I haven't eaten it so you can have" Zaden said as he handed her the pack of snacks.
Brianna looked buffled and Noa's lips twisted. Cardan shook his head as if he remembered a faint memory.
He too had done this to his siblings.
"No...I don't want it anymore" Noa said her voice strained and her fists clenching and unclenching as she tried to calm herself down.
"Are you sure?" Zaden widened his eyes at her.
"Zaden not at at school" Noa narrowed her eyes as Zaden raised his hands in surrounder.
"Okay okay" Zaden returned to his food soon after.
A chuckle left Cardan's lips at their sibling interaction. He found it amusing and it reminded him of home.
"Here you can have mine, they aren't open yet too" Cardan threw the pack on her hands not giving her a chance to say anything he added "Don't bother giving it back I won't take it"
Noa paused for a moment before saying "...thanks but I'll buy you some next time"
Waving his hand nonchalantly he replied "Do whatever you want."
As if remembering something he turned to Zaden "How did you write I already asked Noa and she said she wrote well"
All eyes on the table where now on Zaden as he let out a sigh "It was so-so but I don't think I did well enough too either" before Cardan could say any words of comfort Noa dropped her fork.
"Noa...?" Brianna uttered as she looked at her in question.
"What's wrong?" Cardan asked the question completely not noticing the pityful look on his face.
'I'm the one who didn't write well why is he consoling her' Zaden suddenly felt like life wasn't fair. 'Was it because he was a man. Then isn't this sexiest.'
Some people who saw his face thought that he looked scary but when Mia saw his face from across the lunch hall she couldn't help but think how cute he appeared. She suddenly had a thought of stuffing him in her school bag and hiding him from the world.
Are where of her thoughts she couldn't help but slap herself. 'Pervet' she was such a pervert. While her friends looked at her weirdly she took out her maths notes and began studying in front of everyone. Her cheeks flaming red.
"Noa..." Cardan called out once again.
"It's just that if Zaden says the test was hard then it means whatever bull I wrote was wrong" Noa moved her hands to her hair finally replying.
"How is it my fault" Zaden said his eyes seemingly offended but his voice reminded as monotone as ever.
"She just means that you saying the test was hard basically means that she didn't write well in the test...since you know, you're smart" Brianna explained as she patted Noa on her back trying to keep her lips from rising.
"Tch it's not my fault that she's stupid" Cardan hit Zaden's head as soon as those words left his lips.
"What was that for!" Zaden exclaimed as he rubbed where Cardan had hit him.
"You know what, and Noa just because Zaden says it was hard doesn't mean what you wrote was total bullshit okay. Anywho are there any news on Cloe." Cardan said trying to change the subject.
A small smile appeared on her face before disappearing "Yeah she's taking a break for the year and will only appear to promote her released movie-"
"Apparently it's because her husband and her haven't been able to spend enough time together so he's taking her to travel all over the world" Brianna said as a look of praise and envy appeared on her face.
"She's so lucky isn't she" she added after a while.
They both are. Cardan said internally but more so his flamboyant cousin.
"She is" Noa agreed with her.
"I aspire to marry a man like James Chang. Apparently he comes from a very wealthy family and according to Loogle the Chang's helped build the country" Brianna said.
Noa's and Zaden's eyes focused on her in interest "Really I didn't know that" Noa said.
Whilst Zaden said "Isn't Cardan's surname Chang too" the table became silent for a while before Brianna and Noa shrugged their shoulders.
"It is but unlike the Chang's Cardan comes from a... middle class family plus Chang is a common surname." Brianna said.
"Try to be a bit more smarter Zaden" Noa added as she turned to Zaden.
"Jeez I was just stating a fact" Zaden rolled his eye.
My hands had frozen for a while before returning back to normal. Although it was just a random question that was close. Cardan thought internally.
A thought suddenly appeared in his heard one he had never thought about.
What would they do I'd they found out about whom he was...
