Capítulo 36: Good Manners

The week passed peacefully. Torterra swam around his island and admired the new species of plants. During this time, he rested well and his wounds healed, leaving only scars on his body.

People were constantly doing something near his island. It was unusually crowded these days. Many came to explore the new ecosystem. Various biologists and botanists, chemists and physicists - all visited his island and tried to find out how everything works. There were also a lot of military personnel. They even went to the island and studied the crater that was formed as a result of the explosion.

People thought it was another provocation by an unknown country that doesn't like Torterra being under constant surveillance by the US military. So they tried to kill him. It was a good theory, and there are a couple of countries in the world that could do it, but the theory didn't work out. It looked like a nuclear explosion, but a lot of the data didn't match, so people could only guess what happened here.

There were many journalists constantly flying in helicopters. They dived in small submarines to the bottom of the ocean and showed all the beauty of new and strange nature. Scientists forbade diving simply in scuba diving, because in this zone there was a sufficient concentration of blue toxin, which could cause problems with people's skin. The toxin was not of high concentration, but it could cause skin and mucous membrane irritation.

Concerns about the spread of new plant species were growing, so the governments of the countries allocated one new generation Jaeger to work on stopping the spread of these plants. This was a good idea because there was nothing submariners or divers could do but just watch.

POV: Torterra

Torterra continued to rest. Sometimes he started making blanks for new molds for bricks. He wanted to rebuild his lost home. Even if he goes somewhere after that, it will be nice to return home, not to the destroyed ruins.

When his wounds healed, he started moving bricks and building a new house again. As he emerged from the ocean with the brick on his shoulders, he saw Jaeger standing on the island. The Jaeger was blue in color and had a strange crest on his chest. The arms and legs were cylindrical in shape, and he looked rather thin all over.

"Why does he have that stupid crest on his chest?" - This is the first thing he thought about. There were many people and helicopters around Jaeger. They occupied one corner of his island and began to camp there. "And who will pay the rent?" - He was indignant.

People, seeing him, froze in place. It was very difficult to keep Jaeger on the ship. It must constantly submerge to the bottom of the ocean and come out for maintenance. Therefore, it was impossible to constantly get on and off the ship, and they had no choice but to settle on the island itself.

This Jaeger had been sent here to deal with plants, much to the chagrin of the pilots, but these pilots were the worst of them all. They were the last of the candidates to control the combat Yeger. The Jaeger itself was simplified, all weapons were removed from it and power was reduced. It became slow, but it was enough to work with the plants on the ocean floor.

Torterra growled at them and carelessly threw a brick on the floor, causing an earthquake and some people were hit. Maybe he wouldn't mind having someone look after his house while he travels, but they won't be sitting here for nothing.

A man with a loudspeaker came out in front of all the people. "I'm sorry, you may not understand what I'm telling you, but we need to take care of the new plants at the bottom of the ocean," said the man. He wasn't very hopeful that Torterra would understand him, but all previous conversations with him had been quite promising.

"Maybe they should take care of the plants, but I don't care! They have to pay the rent!" - thought Thoretrra. He did not answer the man and approached Jaeger. He wasn't going to talk to them like he did to Marshall. But he had to teach them how to pay for the invasion, they wouldn't stand here for nothing!

After knocking on this jar, he waited for Jaeger to start moving. After a while, the man with the loudspeaker understood what Torterra wanted and ordered the two pilots to get into the robot. "Great, they already have dual drift technology!" - this is good news, now he can leave people for a while.

The pilots quickly climbed into the Jaeger and raised a hand to say hello. Torterra had not been so kind to him. He took his hand and pulled him along. People began to run to avoid being accidentally stepped on, but some of the cables that were attached to the Jaeger were snapped.

Torterra took Jaeger to the other side of the island, where everything was overgrown with green and blue plants. First he bent down himself and began to clean the floor, and then he pulled Jaeger's hand and cleaned the greens with his hand. It was clear to everyone what Torterra wanted, and there was an awkward silence between him and Jaeger.

The pilots were already not happy with their work as gardeners, and now they were forced to clean up by a stupid beast. They waved their hand, turned and walked back to their corner of the island.

"What you do!" - the man shouted from the loudspeaker. These pilots were sent to tend to the plants, and he didn't mind cleaning up the island at the same time, but the pilots were foolish and proud.

Torterra was not going to let this matter go. If the boys didn't understand that they had to pay rent, then he would teach them manners. Yeger was smaller than him, about 70 meters. And after Torterra had worked so hard on himself, he was very strong. He could easily show his place to some can of sprats.

He was not ceremonial with these Jaeger. Approaching from behind the robot, he grabbed it by the body with both hands and lifted it over his head. The sight of Torterra holding the giant Jaeger above his head amazed people. He did it so easily, as if the robot was some kind of pillow filled with feathers.

Torterra was in no hurry to drop the robot, but continued to hold it. He wanted the pilots to taste fear enough to realize their mistake. The robot flapped its arms and legs, making creaking and metallic sounds, while the pilots inside shouted and cursed.

At first Torterra wanted to throw it on the floor, but if he broke the robot, then there would be no one to clean the island. So he took him to the edge of the island. Standing on the edge, he swung the Jaeger and threw it far into the ocean with all his might. Yeger flew in free fall for several seconds, covering a distance of more than a kilometer, and fell into the water, raising a lot of water into the air.

Torterra turned and went about his business. He picked up his brick and carried it to the wall of the house. After some time, the robot climbed back to the island. A lot of water was pouring out of him, and he just stood and looked at the beast that threw him.

Looking at the Jaeger, the Titan took a step forward towards him, and he immediately bent down and began to brush the weeds on the floor. "Okay, when I get back there won't be a single blade of grass!" Torterra nodded his head and dived back into the ocean. He swam to the underwater volcano and continued making bricks for the house.

Yeger was engaged in his business to prevent the spread of blue plants. He dug large trenches around and destroyed the plants that began to grow outside the control zone. Scientists did not fully understand what to do with these plants and continued to study them. Around this area, with Jaeger's help, they made a fence of coarse netting to keep large fish from swimming into the area and to keep pieces of plants from being washed away by the current. The plan was to seal off the area completely so the toxin wouldn't leave the area, but that was too difficult to do at the moment.

In between working in the ocean, Jaeger cleaned the island of ever-growing weeds, constantly complaining to his management and asking for reassignment.

After some time, the pilots were replaced by others, although Torterra did not notice this. The management perceived this work as a punishment for pilots who disobeyed orders or had the worst results in training.

Several months passed in this way, and the new house was built. It was larger and higher - the monumental structure was impressive with its strength and steadfastness. On the walls, Torterra drew various creatures he saw in the ocean and the Kaiju he met. Instead of Kaiju blood, he used blue plant juice from the ocean. He liked to draw. Perhaps he was being overly cautious, but this was how he could support the legend he had created for Marshall.

The marshal hadn't come to him since then, but he didn't need to. It takes a long time for him to become the head of the Jaeger program, and with the information he gave him, Marshal could develop the technology in the right direction without wandering around.

For his Kaiju prisoner, he built a separate prison at the bottom of the ocean, away from his home. After meeting for the first time in a long time, Torterra was greeted by a web spit as usual. He built a strong prison for him with a foundation and 200 meter thick walls. He made small vents for it, so that fresh water would flow into the prison.

Having finished all his affairs, Torterra went on a journey around the world.
