Lin used the balconies as steps and dropped to the first floor. He looked towards the window and realised the two men were after him. Not wasting any time, his footsteps became very light. Looking at him, one would assume he was transitioning between a phantom zone and the real world. The two chasing him saw that he was at a place in an instant, then he wasn't, then he appeared at another.
<Phantasmal Flow dance Third Form: Phantom Tread>
The Phantasmal Flow Dance came in four forms. The first form, Ghost, allows for quick manoeuvres in battle. The second form, Menace, is for quick steps while attacking but is only effective when using weapons. The third form Phantom Tread allows for quick forward movements and backward movements. The final Form, Overflow, is the combination of all three.
Lin's movements surprised the two as he was known to be practically a cripple, a worthless rank 0. Eyepatch was very surprised at Lin's manoeuvres as well. His face immediately turned green. The thought of Lin being a ranker made him feel sick. He looked keenly at Lin as a smile crept unto his face. "You think you can deceive me? Hahaha, think again". He turned to the men chasing Lin and shouted, "Don't be deceived, he still has no powers. He is using a space teleportation device. Quickly catch him and bring him to me."
For the low-ranked who cannot teleport with their powers, they used devices specially created by using the powers of those who wielded space elements as a reference to aid their teleportation. Teleportation devices were small and could fit into one's palm. Because of the way, Lin seemed to disappear and reappear, Eyepatch assumed Lin was using a teleportation device to move in that manner.
Lin ran as fast as he could, going through several corners to lose his pursuers. "Why won't these two give up already? What did Eyepatch offer them to have them continuously chase me like this. I got to shake them and go to old Dan". The two men saw him take a corner and followed him but soon discovered he was gone. There was no trace of him there at all. They looked around for a while and left.
Lin breathed a sigh of relief as he walked into the building with the inscription, 'Beast Scouts'. "I'm glad they didn't decide to look into people's houses. I would have been caught had they done that." He walked to the counter but saw no sign of old Dan. There was only a lady with ginger hair behind the counter. She looked much older than Lin and was breathtakingly gorgeous. "Older sister Ecca where's old Dan?" he asked as he reached the counter. She glared at him with a murderous gaze, "How many times have I told you not to call me older sister? You make me seem old" he subconsciously moved back because of the gaze but still answered, "Well… you…"
"I am?". If looks could kill, the way she glared at him at that moment would have killed him many times already. He raised his hands and shook them in front of him in denial "Nothing, nothing" he rubbed his nose and asked, "Well… Ecca, where is he?"
She gestured to a door behind her and said nothing more. Lin quickly left the counter before lasers pop out of her eyes to cut him in half. He knocked on the door and entered, "Old Dan, are you in there?" he asked as he peered in. Old Dan was going through some files when Lin walked in. "You are back earlier than I thought you would. Something happened?"
"Lots of things happened" Lin paused and looked curiously at the files he was holding. "What are those files?" he asked. Old Dan took out a file and handed it to him without answering his question.
He glanced through the file but still didn't know what he meant. "Old Dan, these are the property documents of this place. You are not planning to sell this place, are you? I mean, this is your only source of livelihood."
"What? Of course not. I want to transfer the ownership of this place to someone very dear to me." Thinking he was the one, Lin's eyes brightened as he excitedly said, "Old Dan, you would do that just for me? You know you don't have to do that; I would accept it anyway."
Old Dan looked at him with disdain and said, "Stop getting your hopes up, Kid. I'm not doing this for you. Why would I transfer this place to some armature who knows nothing about running a business?"
Lin felt like his heart had been pierced through by a needle when he heard the words spoken by old Dan. He almost coughed up blood. "You don't have to make it sound like that. I do know how to run a business alright." Old Dan pretended to be surprised, "Oh, you do? Then tell me what happened when I left you in charge for two days last year?"
Lin rubbed his nose in embarrassment and said, "Well… that was unforeseen circumstances" Old Dan mocked him, "Right, Unforeseen circumstances" Realising it would not end in his favour, Lin quickly switched the conversation from himself, "Well, so who are you transferring it to then?"
"Ecca"
"Ecca?" Lin was surprised, though he thought it was understandable. "Not that she doesn't deserve it; she does deserve it more than me. She's always been attending to things when old Dan wasn't around and she was here way longer. It makes sense" After a moment of contemplation, Lin asked, "But what would you be doing then? This is your only means of livelihood, if you hand the business over to Ecca, what do you plan to do after that, retire?"
"Kid, you overthink things. And who said I'm handing over the entire business to her; I'm only handing her this branch doesn't mean I'm retiring" Lin looked at old Dan with a questioning look. He was confused. "Branch? What do you mean branch?"
"I mean, since when did we even have branches?" he contemplated while looking at old Dan, expecting a response. Old Dan smiled and said, "You know businesses do not thrive here very well since this is the poorest territory amongst the others and the one with the least population."
"Compared to the others, this place could be called a village. We are going to the territory with giant flying castles and flying ships. The territory that attracts the most traders and businessmen among all the territories."
Lin seemed to understand what he was implying, "You mean…" Old Dan nodded and said, "Indeed. Pack up, kid. We are going to Gamel."
