Capítulo 31: Embraced by the Elements

As Jerry stepped out of Lydia's office, Sophie followed in after him, her bitter smile still lingering. She found Lydia in a jovial mood, buttoning up her coat as she prepared to leave the office.

"Lydia, you seem to be in a good mood," Sophie said, her tone slightly sarcastic.

Lydia raised an eyebrow, looking at her sister with amusement. "And what's wrong with that? Can't a woman be happy at work?"

Sophie shrugged, deciding to let go of her initial annoyance. "Of course, you can. I was just surprised to see you so cheerful after such a long meeting with Jerry."

Lydia's smile faltered slightly as she glanced at the closed door behind her. "Oh, that? It was just some work-related discussion. Nothing to be concerned about."

But Sophie wasn't easily fooled. She knew her sister well, and she could sense that something was going on between Lydia and Jerry. However, she decided not to push the matter for now and instead delved into the reason for her visit.
