Capítulo 204: Chapter 204: Failed Creations

The night was deep.

In the quiet corridor, faint footsteps could be heard coming from afar.

A pale light suddenly lit up at the dark corner of the hallway. However, there was no one behind the glowing orb; it seemed like a ghost floating in the void.

In a moment, the light orb stopped in front of the portrait of the Fat Lady. The lady, who was just about to rest, looked annoyed at being disturbed from her sleep. Before she could even ask for the password, she was startled to see the door behind her opening.

"Just in time," came Lee Jordan's voice from the dark corridor.

The light orb floated into the hallway, and the portrait of the Fat Lady closed again, blocking the entrance to the Gryffindor Common Room.

The gatekeeper lady still wore a perplexed expression.

In fact, the people in the corridor were Fred and George. They were under an Invisibility Charm, which made them invisible. When they used the Lumos spell, it created the illusion of them floating like ghosts in the air.

The opening of the Gryffindor Common Room door was part of the plan. They had agreed on a specific time with Lee Jordan, so when they returned on time, he would open the door for them, bypassing the Fat Lady.

"What did you get?" Lee Jordan rubbed his hands and asked.

"Butterbeer biscuits," Fred said, taking out a paper bag, looking at Lee Jordan accusingly, "We'll eat them in the dormitory."

"You've probably eaten in the kitchen," Lee Jordan grumbled.

It was only natural!

In a moment, the common room fell into silence again, and the footsteps of the three gradually faded away.

The door of a certain dormitory was suddenly pushed open without any warning.

A dark figure quietly approached the person sitting on the armchair from behind.

"What's the midnight snack?" the person on the armchair suddenly asked.

"Butterbeer biscuits," one person replied.

"Do you want some?" another person asked while eating.

"That guy almost finished them all," the third person said.

"Save some for me." Albert took a deep breath, lifted the Invisibility Charm from the twins, and picked up a cold cup of milk tea to drink as he looked at the freshly written Transfiguration essay in front of him.

"You look like you're very tired," Fred handed a newly brewed cup of milk tea to Albert, glanced at the essay next to him, and said, "Why do you find so many things to do? It's just asking for trouble."

"Thanks." Albert took the cup of tea, but he didn't drink from it. Instead, he turned his head to George, who was eating his midnight snack, and said, "Leave me some butterbeer biscuits. I'm a bit hungry, and don't think I don't know you want to save the last piece for me."

Lee Jordan opened his mouth, surprised that he had been seen through.

A while ago, Albert spent a lot of experience points to upgrade Legilimency and the Brain-Closing Charm to Level 2 and Level 3, respectively. Although it was a bit painful to deplete his experience points, Albert knew it was a necessary process.

The Brain-Closing Charm was like a protective shield for his thoughts. With this skill, he wouldn't have to worry about others easily reading his mind.

If his skill points hadn't run out, Albert would have upgraded the Brain-Closing Charm to Level 4. This defensive measure was vital for him as a time traveler, as he didn't want others to know his secrets.

Moreover, if he were to tell Dumbledore about Tom's Horcruxes, he would need to invest even more experience points and skill points in this area.

Of course, it would be worth it, as Tom's Horcrux quest would provide him with ample experience points!

"How are the Wizard Cards from the other houses?" Albert took a butterbeer biscuit from the paper bag that Lee Jordan handed to him and put it in his mouth while chewing, asking casually.

"Ravenclaw has confirmed more than twenty cards, but Hufflepuff has fewer, only eighteen," Lee Jordan thought for a moment before adding, "By the way, today, two more people wanted to join our club. They both want to have their own cards."

"Hmm," Albert responded noncommittally.

"The three of us have already started practicing the Duplication Charm, so it should reduce your burden," Fred said.

Indeed, practicing the Duplication Charm had its benefits. Albert's Duplication Charm had already reached Level 2.

"Speaking of which, I've always been curious. What's inside that box?" Fred pointed to the box on top of Albert's bedside cabinet, curious about what was inside. Last time, he saw Albert put the Protective Bracelet inside.

"Find out for yourselves if you want to know," Albert said without any expression.

After getting permission, George quickly brought the box over. He was also curious about what was inside since he had seen Albert put the bracelet there.

When the box was opened, they saw three metal objects, each about the length of a middle finger, beautifully silver in color, and resembling cylindrical lighters.

"Failed creations from before." Albert explained helplessly to the three.

"What are these things?" George picked up one of the items and looked at the sun-like pattern on its surface, turning his head to ask.

"You'll know when you open it," Albert said expressionlessly.

The three of them looked at each other, and finally, George pressed on the top. Then, they saw the top of the item open, and a ball of light flew out. When the light ball floated in mid-air, it suddenly emitted a dazzling white light.

"Damn, what is this thing?" The intense light startled all three of them. George even dropped the item he was holding.

"I'll call it a Flash Bomb for now." Albert stuffed a biscuit into his mouth, bent down to pick up the item that fell on the ground, and continued, "It's one of the failed creations. It was originally intended to be a magical item that could store light, but it turned out to be both a success and a failure. It became a disposable item. Although it can store the light ball itself, it's pretty useless."

Albert had considered whether to apply this technology to create cheaper Flash Bombs for their joke shop.

"Damn it, I can't see anything now."

"It's okay, your vision will return in a moment," Albert comforted casually.

"Sly trick! But I like it. Why did you make this thing?" Lee Jordan couldn't help asking, his eyes still teary.

"As I said, it's a failed creation."

Speaking of this, Albert felt annoyed. This thing was originally supposed to be a Detergent Charm.

Not long ago, Albert received some help from other wizards, but he ended up making this failed creation.

"You guys are planning to open a joke shop, right? You can use this technology to develop Flash Bombs in the future," Albert decided to reuse the waste, which could be considered a form of achievement.

"I don't think it's fun at all," George said dryly.

"No, it can blind your eyes," Fred laughed, "Especially effective in dark places."

"This thing can be used as a defensive weapon... Well, forget it," Albert touched his chin and muttered.

Most wizards only paid attention to each other's wands during a battle. If he threw this as a Flash Bomb, it could cause quite a bit of chaos. After all, wizards usually didn't pay attention to such things.

Albert was still a bit worried about the items he created. If he accidentally fell into his own trap, it would be tragic.

"What about this one?" Lee Jordan pointed to the second item.

"You'll know when you open it," Albert continued sipping his milk tea and eating biscuits, ready to finish the last remaining ones in the paper bag.

"You do it!" Lee Jordan handed the item to Fred, who glanced at Albert and opened the switch.

"Go to hell, eat shit, all of you eat shit!" After a moment, a familiar voice resounded from inside, leaving Fred dumbfounded in place.

"The sound will last for about thirty seconds," Albert said.

"Apart from scaring people, it doesn't seem to be of much use!" George muttered.

"It can store sound," Albert explained. He had originally planned to store the crying of Mandrakes in it, but he hadn't experimented with it yet, so it was still an unknown.

After all, even Albert didn't know how Mandrakes' crying actually killed people. Was it a subsonic attack, or was it a magical curse?

Hmm, the latter possibility might be more likely, as it sounded more magical.

"And this last one?"

"Don't open it; it contains a foul smell," Albert warned.

"Just how bored are you to make these things?" George felt that Albert was quite boring. He had thought Albert would create more interesting magical items, but he didn't expect these kinds of things.

"Do you know what happens if you combine these three?" Albert asked with a strange expression.

"What?" The three of them asked puzzled.

"A Shock Bomb!" Albert said.

"What's that?"

It was an alchemy item that, when thrown, would stun the people around it.

However, Albert felt that this thing was somewhat useless. It might be effective for surprise attacks, but if he could gasify the Stunning Spell and store it, he might achieve a similar effect.

The three looked at each other, indicating they had no idea what he meant.

"What about the second layer?" Lee Jordan continued to ask.

Albert put the items back, opened the second layer of the box, and inside were various versions of protective bracelets and talismans.

"Is this the latest version?" Fred pointed to the meticulously crafted wooden bracelet and asked.

"Well, not really. The latest version is on my wrist," Albert shook his wrist, "Version 3.0, this is how it works."

Albert lifted his hand and lightly pushed towards George. Before his arm even touched George, an invisible force pushed him away.

"I feel like I've bumped into something." George muttered.

"It's probably the Iron Armor Charm," Fred's eyes lit up, "Seems like a pretty good one."

The original idea was a simple wand substitute, which would allow him to use the Iron Armor Charm without a wand and silently.

"You succeeded?" Fred was very excited. He knew exactly what that meant.

"Well, sort of. But it's still considered a semi-finished product," Albert shook his head. The most annoying thing was that this new skill had yet to appear in his panel.
