Capítulo 203: Chapter 203

"Carnes found himself perplexed, grappling with the drama before him, unable to relate to the events that had unfolded here before him.

All he could do was maintain a patient observation, watching keenly in the sprawling battlefield.

The air was tense as Deva Path, exuding an air of condescension, demanded.

"Let me hear your answer!"

In that moment, Deva Path's aura eclipsed and overwhelmed Naruto entirely, hinting that the gap between them was perilously narrow.

Mentally and physically, it seemed as if Deva Path was on the verge of surpassing Naruto, the destined child of this world.

Naruto lay sprawled on the ground, eyes tightly shut, a palpable silence enveloping him.

His expression betrayed a hint of pain, leaving Carnes to wonder whether Naruto genuinely empathized with Deva Path's words.

After what felt like an eternity, Naruto slowly opened his eyes.

His tone, once rigid it had....it had softened quite a bit.

"This kind of thing... I don't have much idea on.... I also don't know what to say during these time."

He admitted, hesitating.

It appeared as though Naruto was on the verge of complete surrender to Nagato, just one word away from acknowledging his perceived mistakes and proving to Nagato's mastery at manipulating him.

Observing Naruto in this state, his vulnerability, Deva Path's expressions softened slightly, prompting him to expound further.

As he continued, revealing more of his motivations.

"In my pursuit to halt the meaningless cycle of hatred and war, I formed Akatsuki.

To make my dream reality, I need the power of the Nine Tails."

"I intend to utilize the abilities of all the tailed beasts to unleash a ten-tailed beast that surpasses the Nine Tails in strength."

"A beast capable of obliterating entire villages—more than doubling Nine Tails destructive capacity."

"In an instant, a village, an entire country can be brought to its knees."

"The world will face the true pain that I shall unleash."

"Wars will be held back in fear of such pain."

"And everyone will experience the looming dread of such agony."

"This way, the world can progress towards more stability and peace."

Deva Path's declaration reverberated through the air, leaving Demiurge and Carnes exchanging glances on the rooftop.

Demiurge, who once admired Nagato's boldness and the determination to implement his grand plans, now questioned whether he had been mistaken.

The lofty ideals, ruthless methods, and formidable power—how did these all align on such a flawed scheme?

The idea of directly destroying a country, inflicting pain universally on everyone.

And relying on fear to end wars and usher in a new era of peace seemed to Demiurge like a twisted and impractical approach.

The implausible logic of Nagato's plan, premised on inducing terror to end conflict, seemed to defy the very essence of humanity and went against human nature.

In the face of such a monstrous proposal, the sanctity of human blood rebelled against the sheer audacity of Nagato's vision.

The grandiose vision of Obito and Madara's Infinite Tsukuyomi project, though it's somewhat romanticized allure, ultimately fell prey to the cunning manipulation of Kaguya Ōtsutsuki and Black Zetsu.

However, if we momentarily set aside the unforeseen consequence of this ambitious plan, the concept of the Infinite Tsukuyomi holds a certain degree of legitimacy, at least in theory.

It was very least, theoretically sound.

The idea of ushering in an era devoid of conflict is, on the surface, an idealistic pursuit.

However, its flaw lies in its failure to fully account for the complexities of human nature and the unforeseen consequences of tampering with it.

The intricacies of the plan become evident when compared to the more straightforward design of Pain's method.

Pain's peculiar logic baffles the mind.

To obliterate all of humanity, eradicating war and suffering in the process, seems like a strangely pragmatic approach.

"Peace through annihilation" becomes the creed, but it's a peace that's nothing short of surreal.

Nagato's plan was just absurd—a mind-bending labyrinth of thought.

In essence, it proposes eradicating all human life to bring an end to conflict, to abolish pain.

According to what he said, just wipe out all the human beings in this world, so that there will never be any more wars, and there will be no more pain.

"But this peace won't be called true peace," they say, the truly peaceful arise from utter annihilation can't happen from this?

Pain's proposed solution is radical; wipe out humanity, and war will cease to exist.

The logic seems sound, but it's a drastic measure with dire consequences. The world, devoid of life, cannot truly be peaceful. It's a paradoxical concept, a nuclear peace of the gravest kind.

Revenge, on the other hand, bears a different semblance of rationality.

An avenger, having lost their homeland, seeks retribution against society. While society may not understand such motives, it falls within the bounds of what is considered, albeit barely, normal.

It's akin to the great powers in Carnes' previous life – when faced with the threat of total obliteration, these nations would unleash every weapon at their disposal in a desperate bid for survival.

It's a collective response to impending demise: "If our home and family are to be lost, then let us face it together and fight till the end!"

This, at least, is understandable.

But the quandary arises when Deva Path justifies the catastrophic plan as a means to achieve peace.

This proclamation borders on the outrageous.

This, according to Carnes, is not peace but a form of nuclear pacifism.
