Capítulo 33: The Dangerous Vagabond
Yi Hu hid in the shadow where the mech's searchlight couldn't reach, silently observing the battle between the two sides. Due to Raleigh Becket prioritizing the protection of a fishing boat, the mech was at a disadvantage as it was ambushed by the monster codenamed Knifehead.
Knifehead opened its massive mouth and bit down on the left hand of the Jaeger. Raleigh endured the intense pain transmitted through the neural sensors and tightly gripped Knifehead's jaw, shouting loudly, "Attack now! I've got it!"
Yancy nodded and aimed the plasma grenade launcher at Knifehead's chest, firing two shots. They watched as the monster sank into the sea. Raleigh pressed the communication button and spoke softly, "Reporting to the commander, mission accomplished! Two plasma grenades were launched, killing the fifth enemy."
"But you disobeyed my orders!" General Stacker exclaimed with a cold voice. Yancy retorted, "But, General, we not only intercepted the monster but also saved a fishing boat!"
Stacker shook his head and said in a low voice, "Return to your positions immediately!"
Yancy and Raleigh exchanged a smile, understanding that the matter had passed. Tendo, who was responsible for the observation, suddenly spoke up, "The monster's life energy has strengthened! The sensors detected that it's still alive!"
Stacker furrowed his brow and pressed the communicator, shouting loudly, "The monster is still alive! Take the fishing boat and leave immediately!"
Yancy and Raleigh's faces turned serious as they searched for the monster's whereabouts. They felt uneasy in this environment where the enemy remained hidden while they were exposed. They both knew that the monster's next attack would be fierce, but as long as they could withstand the first wave, they would have a chance to turn the tide. If they couldn't hold on, they would meet their end here.
Just as the Gipsy Danger turned around, Knifehead lunged out of the sea, slamming its right claw heavily on the Wanderer's head, causing the mech to stagger back two steps. Yancy's expression turned cold as he muttered, "Raleigh, hold it down, I'll give it two shots!"
Raleigh nodded and controlled the Wanderer's left hand to grab Bladehead, refusing to fall for the same move. Knifehead, who had suffered a loss, didn't want to endure two more shots. Its strong right arm firmly held onto the Wanderer's left arm, and its sharp horn pierced through the Wanderer's shoulder. Raleigh, in a neural connection state, let out a scream of pain.
The pain from the severed arm twisted his face, but Knifehead, with its legs standing and its claws tightly grasping the Wanderer's head, could clearly sense the mech's vulnerabilities due to the genetic heritage left by its predecessors.
"The shell has been pierced!"
Raleigh shouted loudly through the communicator. Yi Hu, looking at the pierced mech, hesitated for a moment, and then two beams of thermal energy shot out of his eyes, piercing Knifehead's abdomen. The intense pain made Knifehead stop its actions, and Yancy seized the opportunity to charge the plasma grenade launcher. In the instant Bladehead raised its hand again, two grenades were fired, penetrating its body.
They didn't stop until the magazine was empty, and they looked at the completely mangled monster's body, both showing a relieved smile. Raleigh endured the pain in his hand and gave a thumbs-up to Yancy. Using their remaining right arms, they grabbed the fishing boat and headed in the designated direction.
Yi Hu glanced at the floating monster's body on the sea for
a moment, then hesitated and stored the corpse in his system backpack. He used telekinesis to envelop himself and moved towards the fissure in the deep sea.
Arriving above the fissure, Yi Hu sank together with Knifehead's body. Looking at the monster's carcass floating down from above, the Precursors blinked their small eyes, somewhat puzzled as they looked at Yi Hu, unable to understand why a human would cross through a spatial fissure and come here.
Yi Hu flashed in front of one of the Precursors, and a massive surge of psychic power instantly entered the Precursor's minds, browsing through their memories. The next second, Yi Hu appeared in front of a taller Precursor and used psychic power to modify their memories.
With the assurance of the Elder, the Precursors quickly accepted Yi Hu's presence. The strict hierarchical system had instilled in them an instinct to obey superiors. Although this could better consolidate people's hearts and provide leadership in times of decision-making errors, it could also lead the empire to destruction.
Yi Hu followed the Elder to the palace and took control of the king. With the assurance of the two, he could better handle matters in this world. Yi Hu released Elisa and allowed the Elder to teach her scientific and technological knowledge.
Although these monsters were considered cannon fodder in the eyes of the strong, Yi Hu still wanted to create a monster legion. Once Godzilla was brought under his command, he would let it lead this legion. Just the thought of it was thrilling.

At the same time, General Pentecost passionately expressed his thoughts in a video call. However, the higher-ups had been terrified by the continuous stream of monsters over the past year and were no longer thinking about how to defeat them but rather how to survive longer.
Yi Hu crossed through the spatial fissure to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. Alongside him were five fourth-level monsters. The walls that had just been constructed were easily broken by the colossal beasts standing at ninety meters tall.
Following Yi Hu's signal, the five monsters charged inland. Yancy and his brother piloted the Wanderer to intercept one of the monsters, while the other mechs were on their way, facing a life-or-death crisis. The high command ordered the activation of nuclear bombs.
After three loud blasts, four monsters turned to ashes. A large amount of land was abandoned due to nuclear radiation. Witnessing the cruelty of the monsters, the high command decided to fully support General Pantecost's mech research.
After a series of decisions, General Pentecost established his headquarters in the dome of the sky and decided to use nuclear bombs to destroy the spatial fissure and end it all.
Yi Hu hid in the crowd, listening to the passionate speech and feeling the enthusiasm of the surrounding people. A slight smile appeared at the corner of his mouth. Yi Hu slowly made his way to the control room and had Elisa enter the database to download the latest scientific and technological research.
Newton looked at the monster's brain in the laboratory, and a spark of inspiration flashed through his mind. He planned to connect his neural sensors to the monster's secondary brain in order to obtain its information. However, Herman believed he was being unrealistic.
After a heated argument, neither of them convinced the other. The stubborn Newton waited until Herman left and connected himself to the monster's secondary brain using the connector. From the fragmented pieces, he saw the process of creating the monsters and understood their main purpose for invading. The monsters were merely tools sent by the Precursors to wipe out all humankind.
At the moment when Newton connected his brain, the Precursors also saw the human layout from his mind, as well as some data on mechs. Based on this information, the Precursors made improvements to the monsters.
General Pentecost's face became serious, and his determination to carry out his nuclear bomb plan grew stronger. Only by destroying the interdimensional portal could true peace be achieved. Pentecost handed a card to Newton and instructed him to find Hannibal Chou and request a fresh secondary brain.
Using a UV flashlight, Newton searched for the pattern on the card and eventually found Hannibal in a general store.
