Wang Zhiyuan knew when to back off, easing up, he said, "I've got my reasons."

"Reasons?" Ding Shuqing's voice spiked, sharp and unlike his usual chill vibe, "Are you even a cop? Right now, you're nothing more than a street thug!" He didn't hold back his harsh words.

Wang Zhiyuan stayed silent, letting him vent.

Ding Shuqing paced back and forth in front of the glass cabinet, each step sounding like he wanted to stomp a hole through the floor. Especially when he turned, the squeak of his shoes against the floor was grating, adding to the irritation. He abruptly stopped, "What's your game?"

Wang Zhiyuan toyed with the cigarette Ding Shuqing had given him, "Given the current situation, how long do you think it will take to catch Qian Haiyang?"

"I don't want to talk about Qian Haiyang right now, let's talk about you!" Ding Shuqing pointed in the air, then ran a hand through his hair, taking a moment to catch his breath, "What's your endgame?!"
