Capítulo 38: Dinner Diplomacy  

Wang Zhiyuan managed to squeeze in a phone call during lunch.

Secretary Liao didn't pick up, and after two rings, he hung up. He didn't call back until 1:30 in the afternoon.

Wang Zhiyuan was in the restroom, and he waited until he buckled his pants before answering the call.

"Sorry, man, I've been swamped these past few days, couldn't find a sec to call you back," Secretary Liao said. "By the way, Mr. Chu mentioned you a couple of days ago, asked how you were doing. Seems like he's got his eye on you."

Wang Zhiyuan was taken aback. Given how Miss Chu couldn't wait to get out of there, he thought they'd both ghost each other after the blind date. But now there's a sequel? Was her hasty exit some sort of hard-to-get strategy? Nah, she wouldn't have left without saying goodbye, leaving a bad impression.
