69.6% First Love Never Dies (English Ver.) / Chapter 71: (70)

Capítulo 71: (70)

I hugged her sobbing sister as well.

When he disappeared it was as if heaven and earth were covering me.

It feels like I lost my soul when he died.

For several days I did nothing but cry and locked myself in my room after he was buried. Even if I force myself to stay, I can't order my eyes to stop shedding tears.

It took me years to at least move a step forward and try to forget about his death.

I thought everything was fine. I thought I had forgotten the pain caused by his loss.

Little did I know, there was this little part of me that longs for him.

That hopes for him to come back.

That wants to feel him again.

That wants to bring him back, which is impossible.

I wiped the treacherous tears that streamed down my cheeks. My hand that was holding Erron's letter was shaking.

When I finished telling Camilla everything, we both didn't say a word.

He just let me cry to release all the pain I was feeling. Occasionally he caresses my back. While Macey just hugged my side.

There was also a few moments of deafening silence between us until Macey read it.

She innocently pointed her fingers in one direction.

"Aya, a shadow passed by the door."

I blinked my eyes several times, I didn't immediately speak when Macey said that.

I bit my lip as I looked back at Camilla, who was now just stunned in the direction of the door.

When he noticed that I was looking at him, he then turned to me, following his resistance to my shot.

"Ate, a shadow passed by the door."

The words Macey had left echoed in my mind.

A shadow.

A freaking shadow passed by the freaking door.

I was suddenly intrigued.

Not one of us dared utter a single word.

When I turned my gaze to Macey, he just looked up at me. I don't see him with the slightest trace of lying.

I have this feeling that the child was telling the truth.

She's not lying.

No, she wouldn't.

Maybe because I also have these weird feelings lately. I just can't accuse a little child of lying about what she saw.

My bad dream last night came back to me.

It just feels so real.

I can still feel the chills.

And the sharpness of the weird shadow's fangs.

Because I was thinking too deeply about Macey's statement, I didn't notice that my grip on the hem of my dress was getting way too tight.

My breathing started to become heavy little by little.

I need to gasp for a huge amount of air to avoid my lungs getting suffocated.

The length of things running through my mind was just cut short when Lily got up from lying down.

I could not understand the expression painted on his face.

"What's wrong, Lily?" I asked.

"Nothing. I just... Did I hear it just right? A what? A shadow?" she asked back.

I nodded.

Lily's eyes went curious and scared.

Her lips parted as if she wanted to tell us something, but she decided to shut them up in the end. Instead of asking her further, I chose to let the silence embrace us for a while.

Just when Lily was about to spill something on us, we heard someone shouting.

It seems to be regardless of the wounds on our bodies.
