Chapter 16: System

"Alright, how was your first encounter against a curse? Fun, right? You did well for your first time, especially against a cursed spirit of first-grade." Gojo said, smiling at Hideo.

Hideo, currently at Gojo's apartment, was in a terrible state. He had wounds all over his body, bruises in various places, and his eyes seemed lifeless. However, his body was somehow healing itself in real-time; one could see the wounds closing, which was quite unusual to witness.

"Bastard." Hideo said to Gojo with lifeless eyes, emanating a murderous intent from his body.

"Ha ha, don't be mad at me. I'm doing this for your own good. The best way to increase your abilities as quickly as possible is by fighting to your limits. If you fight at the edge of death, your cursed energy will increase. It's the only way for now." Gojo explained.

Hideo refused to look at Satoru, so the latter sighed and spoke seriously, "You have to understand why I'm doing this. Right now, even though you have strength, your control over it is terrible. You're an easy target for first-grade or special grade spirits. Now that I can't hide your existence, everyone will try to kill or kidnap you because of your connection to me. You're my only weakness. If they capture or kill you, I don't know what I would do. I refuse to lose someone else due to my ineptitude. So, please understand that I'm doing this for your sake and mine. Please, I just ask that you understand."

Hideo looked into Satoru's eyes and simply nodded, understanding that his brother wanted to protect him. He remembered how Satoru's personality changed suddenly one day when they were younger, becoming more distant. Now that he knows about the hidden part of the world, he can guess what might have happened. Thus, he couldn't be angry with his brother and could only trust him and continue training hard.

Gojo returned to his usual smile upon seeing Hideo's agreement.

"Well, watching your fight today made me realize several things that will be useful for your training. I understood more or less about your power and what you're capable of. It seems your body has improved and surpassed human limits. You're strong, fast, and all your human capabilities seem stronger than normal, without the need to use cursed energy like the rest of us. Even now, with your wounds, they heal in just a few minutes, something that should have taken weeks. It's incredible."

Hideo nodded; that's the essence of his power, x777. He can do everything a top human can do x777, which means he's 777 times faster than the fastest person and can lift 777 times the weight of the world's strongest person. Although he is quite overpowered, he's weak against magic and all types of energy, making him vulnerable in a world like Mondaiji, but this is a slice-of-life story, so he'll remain OP.

"And thanks to that, you can use 'limitless' at a level close to mine or even better than any member of the Gojo clan could. Coupled with your incredibly fast learning speed, if we train hard for a year or maybe even less, you should be able to master the basics of limitless, purple, teleportation, and void limit." Gojo continued.

"What on earth is 'limitless'?" Hideo asked with a confused expression.

"Well, basically, it's a technique inherited in the Gojo family. This technique brings the concept of 'Infinity' into reality, allowing the user to manipulate and distort space at will. Anyone from the Gojo family can inherit it, but the problem is that it's difficult to use and get the most out of it because it requires a lot of processing speed and calculation. Your brain has to be like a computer to make the most of it. I'm the only one who can truly maximize its potential due to my six eyes. I'm the only user of six eyes in 400 years, and it's impossible for there to be two users at the same time, so you can't obtain them. Thanks to the six eyes, I can use Limitless to its fullest, and that's why I'm so handsome and strong." he said, with a conceited expression.

Hideo simply rolled his eyes at his egotistical brother.

"Well, as I was saying, even though it's difficult to get the most out of it and use it efficiently, if you can master Limitless at an acceptable level, you would be the strongest person after me. And even without the six eyes, your processing speed is ridiculously good, somehow comparable to mine with six eyes. Although I'm not sure if your ability will improve, I suppose it will. I doubt you'll only have one awakening after 15 years without cursed energy. My theory is that your cursed energy has been merging with your soul and your body, enhancing both. But well, I'll continue training you for a few more days, and I'll make sure you learn the basics before returning to the academy. Once you're back, you'll put into practice what I've taught you. So, for now, rest. I'll go bother the higher-ups. See you later." Gojo said as he disappeared from the room.

*sigh* "What a few days. I didn't think fighting for a whole day would be so difficult. He used me as a punching bag until I could cover my fists with cursed energy, but there were just too many blows. The good thing is that my endurance increased thanks to the system and the cursed energy. Otherwise, I'd probably be dead. I also feel like my cursed energy has increased significantly." Hideo thought as he got up from the sofa and headed to the bathroom.

After a while, Hideo could be found in the bathtub, staring into space with a lost look, or at least that's how it would seem to others. In reality, he was looking at the blinking system, displaying notifications.

[Mission completed: Eliminate a curse for the first time. Eliminate a Grade 4 curse = 1 ticket. Eliminate a Grade 3 curse = 3 tickets. Eliminate a Grade 2 curse = 5 tickets. Eliminate a Grade 1 curse = 7 tickets. Eliminate a special grade curse = 50 tickets.] [You have obtained 7 tickets. Do you want to use them now or wait to get 10 tickets? If you get 10 tickets, you will receive an extra ticket.]

"Hmm, no rush yet. I'm fine for now, so it's not necessary. I'll wait." Hideo said.

"Do you have any available missions to earn more tickets?" he asked.

[Searching for available missions... 1 mission available.]

[Successfully get along with Maki Zenin and gain her trust and affection.]

[Reward: 3 tickets.]

"I'd like to know how they choose the missions. They have no relation to each other. I wonder if it's that perverted old man's fault." Hideo said.

One could see an old man sitting on a couch, eating popcorn while watching anime on the television. The old man was in an infinite white space and had an innocent smile.

"Hohoho, so these are how my worlds are developing, huh? Who would have thought that those worlds I created on a whim would end up being so interesting and somehow leak into other worlds. Such a strange phenomenon. It would be interesting to send Hideo to some of these worlds. This will probably be a good start for him, and he'll probably have fun." the old man said with an innocent smile. However, his expression suddenly turned to disgust.

"Hohoho, my grandson is being rude, huh? I probably need to teach him a lesson." the old man said with a chilling smile.

While the old man planned his revenge, on the screen in front of him, an anime that Hideo would probably recognize was playing an anime about zombies where the girls are too sexy for their own good. It would also be Hideo's next destination.

*

Hideo shivered and looked around, but after finding nothing, he sighed and shook his head, returning his gaze to the system.

[The missions are chosen randomly, and the corresponding tickets are awarded based on their difficulty. You can get missions for anything. It's up to you whether you accept them or not]

the robotic and emotionless voice of the system replied.

'Always in a good mood, huh? Well, my intention was to get along with Maki, so the tickets are just an extra.' Hideo said as he got out of the bathtub.

He put on a Pikachu pajama that Gojo gave him and headed to the room his brother had assigned to him. He lay down on the bed, for now, he was living with Gojo as it was the safest place outside the school. Once his training was complete, he would start living at the school.

'Phew, what a life I have. I can't deny that I miss my old world, but well, this is my life now. The past must be left behind in order to move forward. I have to become strong to survive in this world and fulfill my promises. But well, I'll worry about that when the time comes. For now, I just want to rest.' Hideo thought.

That was the last thought Hideo had before his consciousness faded, and he entered the world of dreams. Unbeknownst to him, the strange thing in his soul began to grow slowly. He ended up waking up an hour later, as it seemed he didn't need to sleep as much now.
