The following morning, Emperor Xiangwei made his way back to his chamber following a stroll through the palace grounds. As he entered, a maidservant approached him with news of Xianwu's impending visit.
"Please, have him come in," Emperor Xiangwei instructed, his gaze shifting to the scrolls scattered across his desk. Eunuch Yang, who was present, ventured to voice his concerns.
"Is it wise to place trust in Xianwu, Your Majesty?" he inquired.
Emperor Xiangwei regarded the scrolls pensively. "I do not have an answer to that, Eunuch Yang," he replied, opening an empty scroll. Eunuch Yang stepped forward, presenting the Emperor with a brush dipped in black ink.
Xiangwei accepted the brush from Eunuch Yang and began to write on the scroll.
As Xianwu entered the chamber, he raised his hands, extending them up to his shoulders, positioning his right hand behind the left, and executed a respectful bow, greeting the Emperor with formality.
