Noa woke up on a Sunday morning, feeling sore all over his body. He dragged himself toward the bathroom to freshen up.
As he looked at his fatigued face in the mirror, Noa could feel the weight of exhaustion on him. Even after a hot shower and soap, his muscles still protested any movement. The warm water, however, provided temporary relief.
Once he finished showering and dressed in casual clothes—t-shirt and pants—Noa made his way to the living room.
Eden was still asleep, his face pale. He was stubborn about asking to be discharged from the hospital. However, since he possessed illegal data, it was safer for him to be at Noa's apartment, even if it wasn't exactly a hidden place.
Noa's growling stomach led him to the kitchen. Upon opening the fridge, he found only a few slices of bread remaining. His supply of real food would run out today. At least, he still had synthetic food and nutrients to sustain his energy until he had a chance to go to the supermarket.
