— "Monster."
Arcueid herself had used this term more than once.
Arcueid had said that Tohno Shiki was a monster.
Arcueid had said that Fang Li was a monster.
In Arcueid's eyes, the two young men who possessed the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception were nothing short of monsters.
Now, Ciel is using this term to describe Arcueid.
And it was done in the most merciless way possible.
However, faced with this merciless declaration, Arcueid struggled to raise her head, gritting her teeth as she glared at Ciel.
"I... I won't... become... that..."
She spoke these words, but Arcueid's breathing grew more erratic, her delicate body trembling even more.
To an outsider, it might seem like Arcueid's current state is due to the severe damage inflicted by Ciel's recent attack on the princess.
But both Fang Li and Ciel knew that with the capabilities of this True Ancestor princess, such an attack was little more than a scratch— merely appearing severe.
The flawless body, devoid of any visible wounds, perfectly illustrated this point.
So, the reason Arcueid was in such agony was not because of the injuries, but because of the Vampiric Impulses within her.
Just as Ciel had stated.
Having been killed once by Tohno Shiki and using most of her power to resurrect, Arcueid no longer had the strength to suppress the Vampiric Impulses within her.
Once Arcueid succumbed to the Vampiric Impulses, this True Ancestor princess would fall completely.
Become a monster that feeds on human blood.
No.
The threat posed by a fallen Arcueid would be far greater than that.
If she were to truly fall, this strongest True Ancestor princess would unleash her full power, and in her berserk state, she would lay waste to everything around her.
Among the Dead Apostle's Twenty-seven Ancestors, there was originally a place reserved for Arcueid.
That position was the third.
Currently, it remains vacant.
But once Arcueid falls, this monstrous True Ancestor princess will take that position, becoming the third of the Dead Apostle's Twenty-seven Ancestors and a global catastrophe.
"So, now is the best time to kill her."
With those cold, heartless words from Ciel, the conversation came to an end.
Only the sound of Arcueid's chaotic breathing and her stifled groans echoed in the space.
Fang Li glanced at the cold-faced Ciel, then shifted his gaze to Arcueid.
The ice-blue Mystic Eyes quietly surfaced.
"Biri…"
The long-forgotten sensation of electricity coursed through Fang Li's mind.
This was the sign that Fang Li was fully activating his Mystic Eyes of Death Perception.
As a result, Fang Li's Mystic Eyes glimmered with an unprecedented light, even the rainbow-like irises in the center shimmering brightly.
Then, Fang Li turned, holding the Moonlight Dagger in a reverse grip, and slowly walked toward Arcueid.
Seeing this, Ciel was momentarily stunned, then frowned.
Even Arcueid's breathing quickened. Watching Fang Li approach, sweat covered her forehead, and she struggled to squeeze out a few words.
"What... are you planning to do?"
This was probably the first time.
Since meeting Arcueid, this was the first time Fang Li had heard a hint of unease in her voice.
Was Arcueid afraid?
Afraid that Fang Li might do as Ciel suggested and kill her?
No one knew.
Only Ciel, who witnessed the scene, her eyes flickering slightly, eventually chose to watch coldly from the sidelines.
In this tense atmosphere, Fang Li continued to approach Arcueid step by step.
"Ugh…"
Arcueid clenched her fists.
Then, in a voice trembling with uncertainty, she spoke.
"Do you... want to kill me?"
Her words made the air in the space grow heavy.
Yet Fang Li simply arrived in front of Arcueid and looked down at her from above.
A pair of ice-blue Mystic Eyes glimmered with a mesmerizing light.
At this moment, Fang Li finally spoke.
"Didn't you say earlier that there's nothing in this world that I can't kill?"
This had happened less than half an hour ago.
Back then, Fang Li didn't directly respond to Arcueid's question.
"Now let me tell you."
"At least, if it's me, I can still kill it."
"Kill the thing that's been tormenting you."
As soon as these words fell, Fang Li suddenly raised the Moonlight Dagger in his hand, holding it in a reverse grip, and aimed it at Arcueid's chest.
Then, he brought it down.
"Pū Chī—!"
The sharp sound of the blade piercing through flesh echoed clearly.
Just like that, Fang Li's Moonlight Dagger plunged into Arcueid's body without any resistance.
"Gūwū!"
Arcueid let out a stifled cry of pain.
Ciel's eyes narrowed sharply.
In the next moment, it was as if everyone heard a sound.
"Pā Jī..."
It was the sound of something shattering.
The source of the sound came from within Arcueid's body.
As the sound faded, the aura surrounding Arcueid changed.
It was no longer chaotic like before; instead, it seemed to calm down, gradually gaining stability.
"See?" Fang Li suddenly smiled and said, "Didn't I kill it?"
After saying this, Fang Li withdrew the Moonlight Dagger from Arcueid's body.
The blade was spotless, without a trace of blood.
"—Hah!"
It was only then that Arcueid seemed to be released from a suffocating state, gasping for fresh air like someone who had nearly drowned.
However, her breathing was no longer erratic and feverish; it was steady and orderly.
"You..."
Watching as Arcueid returned to normal, her complexion relaxing, Ciel was finally struck with astonishment.
Then, Ciel shifted her gaze to Fang Li, speaking as if in disbelief.
"What did you do?"
This question received no answer.
Fang Li merely said:
"Is there still a problem?"
His casual tone rendered Ciel silent, unable to find words.
After a moment, Ciel turned her gaze to Arcueid and murmured softly.
"You've just picked up a life, True Ancestor."
Leaving those words behind, Ciel flickered and disappeared on the spot.
"That foolish woman..."
Arcueid, gradually calming her breath, spoke through gritted teeth.
"Who exactly picked up a life?"
Seeing Arcueid now with the strength to complain, her voice and expression no longer filled with anguish and repression, Fang Li lowered his head and looked at the Moonlight Dagger in his hand.
Recalling the sensation from just moments ago, Fang Li couldn't help but sigh.
"It seems it wasn't as simple as I thought..."
