Capítulo 48: Chapter 48: Shopping in Imperial Capital
We bought meat, fish, vegetables, eggs and different groceries from nearby shops. Now that we had ample storage we could buy things in bulk.
While we were shopping I saw an apron being sold in the Clothes shop. It wasn't like the nice aprons which I was used to seeing. It was made from rough cloth and didn't look that nice.
I still bought 6 of them for 30 nars. Even if they didn't look nice it did its Job.
After that we went inside the Explorer's Guild and Warped to the Imperial Capital.
The structure of Adventurer's Guild here was the same as the others, just it was almost 3 times bigger than the one in Vale. Still it was filled with people.
We got out of the Adventurer's Guild and looked at the Imperial City. The city was crowded with buildings, the color of the buildings here was the same reddish brown color.
It feels as if I have been transported to ancient Rome. Even if I haven't ever seen it, I feel like it should also have looked like this.
Unlike Quratar there were straight and broad roads here, they are even wider than the Vale's main street.
"This is the first time I have been here without being in a rush. But it sure is an impressive City isn't it?" Roxanne said while looking around
"It sure is as big as I've heard" Sherry replied looking at the tall buildings.
"So it's your first time here too Sherry?" I asked our new member.
"Yes. People usually wouldn't come here unless they have something to do"
"Well that is true"
Even if they have such a convenient Magic as Field Walk in this world, there is still no concept of tourism yet.
"I wish I could have come here sooner …" Sherry looked at the buildings with a distant look in her eyes.
"Hmm why?" I asked, seeing her sad look.
"Ah no that … There is a Library in the Imperial Capital. It was an old dream of mine to visit it one day" Sherry replies hesitantly.
"Ok then it's decided on a day when we are free I would take you to the Library" I announce with a smile.
"Eh … But I am Slave now … and you need to pay a hefty deposit and …"
"Well I have decided already so that's that" Instead of listening to her excuses I tell her while looking straight in her eyes.
"Thank you very much" Sherry replies with a happy smile.
"Okay Roxanne let's find a Furniture Shop first"
"Yes Master"
There are a large variety of Shops here. There are even stalls opened by people on the main street.
There were even some shops with Glass windows. This is the first time I have seen Glass in this world even if it looks thicker than normal. The stores here give a sense of luxury.
In Quratar all the shops were based on satisfying the needs of Explorers, here they are geared towards the Imperial City's residents.
We found a large Furniture Shop on the main street. It was a luxurious shop and we were greeted warmly by a young woman inside the shop.
Here after extensive shopping we bought 4 double Beds, 5 closets, 6 shelves, and a massive rectangular dining table with 20 chairs. The dining table was the biggest one they had.
Besides this I also bought the giant Bed they had. The Bed looked massive, it was like 3 Double Beds combined. This one would be for my Main Bedroom, the others would go to the rest of the rooms on the First floor.
After I selected that Bed, Sherry was looking at me with suspicious eyes but I ignored it and tried my best to shift her attention.
It was mostly Roxanne shopping while I and Sherry commented about things from the side. They would also be giving the softest mattresses alongside these Beds for free.
As we had bought so much, the Furniture Shop would deliver all of it from Imperial Capital to our House in Quratar for free. But it would take 3 days to transport all of these. Since it was free and I was in no hurry for the time being I accepted their offer.
The whole thing cost me 5 Gold Coins with 35% off.
"Umm why did they lower the amount by so much in the end?" Sherry asked aloud as we left the Shop.
I did see her looking suspiciously at the Merchants in Quratar when I paid for the Equipments.
"It's because of Master" Roxanne answered proudly.
"Huh?"
"I will explain it to you later" Knowing that it would be another long explanation I choose to skip the talk for now.
As we came out of the Furniture shop there was a particular fragrance that I could smell. We followed the fragrance to the side street where we found a Seasoning Shop.
We entered and there were Jars filled with different seasonings inside the shop. Roxanne had her nose scrunched up because of all the smells.
I bought a small Jar of every seasoning. Even if they are called different here, I am sure that I would be able to find something which matches my knowledge after a taste.
The old woman selling all the Jars was a Merchant so after 35% off the total was just 5 silver.
After that we searched for a Carpet shop.
"For Carpets I'm thinking of buying just 6 for now. We can spread 3 on the floor and 3 on the walls in different rooms"
"Master mostly only people from wealthy families spread carpets on the floor. People generally only use it for Wall Decoration" Roxanne said while pointing towards the Carpet Shop.
"Well we will be doing both then"
We entered the shop selling Carpets. We were welcomed very cordially inside this high end shop by a young shop lady.
Normal carpets were sold for 30 silver and luxurious ones which were specifically crafted by a Carpet Manufacturer or designed by a famous Carpet Designer were sold for 50 silver coins.
As discussed before Roxanne and Sherry started going through all the luxurious Carpets and chose 6. I must say Roxanne's taste is always impeccable.
With 35% off everything came to a total of 1 Gold and 95 silver coins.
"It happened again"
I just chuckle at Sherry's frustration.
We rolled the carpets and they allowed us to use their Back room, where they spread out a Carpet on the wall through which I can use Field Walk. They change the Carpet daily so there is no security risk.
We returned to the Entrance Hall of our Mansion, keeping the Carpets inside the Backpack we Warped back to the Imperial Capital's Adventurer's Guild.
Next I asked them to search for a High class clothing shop.
Finding one on the main street we entered into an elegant shop. The shop had exquisite steps and gorgeous decorations on the wall.
We were warmly welcomed inside by 2 ladies. Even though the Shops are on the Main Street they are generally very quiet.
First I asked them to choose 7 pairs of clothes to wear in a labyrinth and 7 pairs for daily use. Roxanne instantly went into her serious mode to inspect every piece of clothing this shop has.
"Is it really okay to buy new clothes for me?"
"Yes so choose whatever you want"
"Thank you very much. Well any clothes a slave like me wears will belong to you anyways, I guess" Sherry said with a smile.
That comment was totally unnecessary. I just coughed and ignored her words.
Sherry was finished choosing her clothes quite quickly. Dwarven clothes were basically Kid clothes. Dwarves were one of the main reasons why shops here had so many varieties of Kid clothes.
I saw that she chose something similar to what she was wearing right now. Meanwhile Roxanne was seriously checking every stitch of the clothes she picked up.
Knowing that it would take her some time, I started choosing my clothes. The ladies working at the shop were really happy to help narrow down my search.
I just bought 7 Black outfits for the Labyrinth. For daily wear a tunic above and a pant below but of very good quality cloth. I chose this of different colors, as I didn't want to go full black and become an edge lord.
While chatting with the sales lady, I got to know that Nobles generally wear clothes made from silk. Mostly this Shop custom makes those clothes on order, but they do have some ready made clothes right now.
Just then Roxanne came to me asking my opinion on which one of the two tunics to choose. Instead of choosing, I told her to buy both of them.
This was my ultimate move to cut down our Shopping time. After Roxanne chose all of her clothes, we followed behind the sales lady to another room inside the shop where there were sets of clothes made of silk.
The sales lady took measurements of all of us. I was very calm even though an unknown pretty lady was touching my body. It must be because of the presence of Roxanne and Sherry.
She then brought all the clothes that were of our size. For me there were 3 robes of black, white and red colour. For Roxanne there was a pink dress, a green dress and a black dress. I could already imagine how beautiful she would look in those dresses.
For Sherry there was a blue dress, a white dress and a black dress. According to the Shop lady, now that she has our measurements I can order custom made clothes from this shop.
Instead of choosing I told her that we would be buying all of these clothes. The shop lady looked at me stunned. Roxanne and Sherry were used to my splurging behaviour. It feels good to behave like a Young Master sometimes.
As the Shop lady kept the clothes for us aside, I approached her and asked if they had nightwear here. The shop lady calmly brought us to a corner of the room where they keep all the nightwear.
I chose 7 new underwear and socks which felt very smooth. The shop lady told me that all of these were made from silk. I also told Roxanne and Sherry to choose 7 as well.
As they were still choosing, the shop lady showed me a different dress, it had two thin straps and was almost transparent. It was a camisole.
The shop lady told me that this kind of dress is used as nightwear or innerwear by Noble ladies. Touching it I could feel its smoothness, and could already imagine Roxanne and Sherry wearing these at night.
I told both Sherry and Roxanne to buy 7 of these as well that too of different colors. After a while Sherry also chose everything. Apparently they just had 7 colors for the Camisole so she chose very fast. We both stood aside and watched Roxanne choose.
After a while she was done as well and we went towards the counter to pay for our bulk order. Even with 35% off the total came out to be 5 Gold coins.
As we had such a Bulk Order they allowed us to use their Back room where they also had a Carpet for Field Walk. We moved all the clothes to our Bedroom in 3 trips.
I looked outside our House and half a day was gone already. If I hadn't bought everything which Roxanne asked me to choose, it would have probably been night before we finished our shopping.
But looking at their happy faces I knew that this Shopping day was a huge success.
"Lets freshen up and go to the Labyrinth"
