(LANA)
My nerves went from being warm to being hot, and my sweat became more salty than it ever had been before as the tension in the room increased.
Imagine being able to threaten and challenge someone who used to scare you; that's exactly what I was doing right at this very moment. At least, for the first time ever, I was able to stand up for a friend, in contrast to when I could do nothing but watch helplessly as this monster dressed in human skin carried Danie away to her place of doom.
In this very moment, I wasn't just speaking for myself in the face of danger; I was speaking for a friend who had recently become someone I felt a sisterly love for. This made me feel incredibly proud.
"Human! This is the very last time I ask you to move out of the way!" His eyes turned red and fierce as though he had pepper in them, but that was rage, and rage was the last thing on my mind right at this very moment.
"And I said no!"
