Capítulo 101: HOMO DEUS part 4
Ethan fired at the elevator, the bullets taking down the Vanguard terrorists inside, leaving the elevator's golden interiors a bloody mess.
He then slammed the emergency stop button, stopping all of the elevators at their current floor, locking off all quick access to the floor.
Charlotte looked at her advanced scanners.
"More lifeforms are approaching below, the elevators will only hold them off for so long," she said, readying her blasters.
Shirley turned to look at their total forces.
"50 vs 2000. This is a tough one," she said.
Sayyid suggested that they leave the heavy weapons here and stall those charging up.
Shirley nodded, leaving him in charge with majority of the contractors and other heavy weapons.
She and Khai led the way up, with Charlotte and the 3 UNSSD operators following.
Sayyid quickly powered on the electromagnet modules on the combat robots they brought along, having already been made aware of the weaknesses of the mass-produced humanoid biological weapon of Archangel.
He and the remaining contractors raised their weapons at the staircases, readying themselves for the next wave.
Very soon, a huge appendage appeared from the doorway, Sayyid opened fire with his Noveske N4 rifle, activating the electromagnets.
"Ready electromagnet shields!" he yelled to his fellow contractors.
The electromagnetic fields generated soon attracted objects all around the room it it firmly, and shattered the bodies of the humanoid biological weapons, allowing the contractors to repel them back.

Shirley heard the loud fighting below, silently praying that Sayyid can hold the line.
"We have to be quick," she said.
"But we can't use the elevators, how?" asked Khai.
Charlotte calmly chucked out a disc into the open elevator shaft. It locked itself onto the top of a stopped elevator, emitting a blue glow. She then jumped down the elevator shaft, then flying out of the shaft, flying upwards.
"I will create a path, wait here for me," she said.
In a room at the 60th floor, the Pegasus personnel and the Archangel higher ups are all staring at Charlotte flying up.
"What are you waiting for?!" roared Sir Campbell. "STOP HER!!"
A Pegasus member pressed on a button.
Charlotte heard whirring around her as she flew, looking down to see a laser net approaching her quickly.
She looked up, another laser net is charging down. Both nets waiting to slice her into a million slices.
"Mediocre," she sneered, launching nanobots from a compartment in her Bethorian armour, which split into 2 ways, charging up and down respectively.
The nanobots slipped past the hairline gaps in the laser nets, entering the emitters, connecting and formatting themselves into a wire, and connected itself to the power supply of the laser emitters on both sides.
The nanobot wires then connected their ends together, creating a new closed circuit.
It did not take long for the massive surges of electricity to create a short circuit, instantly causing the electricity in the building to be cut as the circuit breaker is activated to prevent the short circuiting laser emitters from burning and causing fires.
"F***!" cursed Sir Campbell as the power went out around him, the screens and holographic displays all cut off.
Without any distractions, she quickly flew up to the 50th floor, firing her mini-missiles at the Pegasus contractors coming to stop her, blasting them into bits.
2 heavy military robots opened fire with their plasma cannons, flanked by more Pegasus contractors and small security robots.
Charlotte drew both of her blasters, then started hovering around in impossible speeds and agility that even acrobats are incapable of achieving, thanks to the Bethorian armour's insane hardwares, expertly dodging and slipping between the enemies' lines of fire, giving them the risk of friendly firing while activating the energy shields around her armour, shrugging off their attacks like swatting flies.
She became a white tornado in the room, almost instantly annihilating all of the hostiles, shattered metal and limbs lying around in the room are the only proofs of their existence.
Once she cleared the area, Charlotte placed another disc on the floor, and it powered on, too emitting a blue light.
"Done," she said curtly to Shirley.
Shirley looked at the time in her HUD in shock. Charlotte had accomplished all that within 5 minutes.
Using the HUD's NOD systems, she and Khai led the rest of them down the dark elevator shaft barely illuminated by the disk and the lights emitted from their Exo-suits.
"What's this?" asked Electra.
"A Bethorian short distance teleportation device," explained Shirley.
She led them, jumping into the disc's blue light, and soon they ended up next to Charlotte.
"Wow, cool!" exclaimed Electra excitedly, Maia and Ethan concurred, looking at themselves in awe. The 3 former Squad Artemis are barely over 20 years old after all, hence still having that youthful exuberance and curiosity as compared to their comrades.
"You can play with them later," said Charlotte, recycling the 2 discs which flew back into her armour. "Let's go!"
"I am taking point this time," said Maia, raising her X95 rifle, pointing it at the entrance of the laboratory
They charged in, blasting and gunning down the enemies inside, clearing through the condo sections. Very soon, they have detained a sizeable portion of Archangel administrative staff and researchers, holding them in the living room.
"Not here," said Maia, looking through them for their high priority targets, such as Sir Howard and Sir Campbell.
Charlotte looked up, frowning to see that there are still many lifeforms above them.
"This means we need to clear the rest of the 50 floors floor by floor," Khai complained, exasperated.
The 6 of them finally understood why the security systems were all cut off. The Archangel higher ups clearly wants to play a game of hide and seek with them, cutting off their security systems prevent them from hacking it to find them.
Electra tried to interrogate out their whereabouts from those they have detained, which soon proved to be an useless move.
Charlotte gathered them over, analysing the situation.
"There must be another method the enemy can use to detect us, for example the laser nets in the elevator shaft," she analysed. "If it was automated using sensors, the laser nets would have activated when I threw in the teleportation discs, so it must have been manual."
"How will we find them?" asked Shirley.
Maia suggested that they search for foreign signal sources, that may reveal the other means they have of observing and viewing them. Charlotte agreed, then activated a device on her armour.
"There is a strong signal pulsing from the 60th floor, all the way at the top," she said.
"Let's head up," said Maia, reloading her rifle, moving over to the stairs.
"Before that, we need a visual on the floor," said Electra.
Charlotte agreed, radioing for a recon robot to be launched in.
On the Bethorian gunship, a special canister is loaded into its bomb rack, which is then launched out from the vessel currently hovering at high altitude at high speeds.
It opened its parachute at low altitude, similar to HALO jumping to avoid radar detections, launching nanobots into the air vents.
The nanobots formed themselves into a recon robot, scaling down into the 60th floor, hiding itself among the potted plants.
"Ok, we have visuals," said Charlotte, sharing the videos into the HUDs of her comrades.
"Wait, I am picking up some audio..." said Maia, "go back a bit,"
Charlotte nodded, controlling it to go back.

In the VIP room, Duchess Livia and Lord Kronos looked at Sir Howard with an amused grin. Behind them are Aurelia, Camila and "Spectre", taking guard behind their 3 masters.
Oblivious to the fact that they were being eavesdropped on, they are already yapping away on their deal.
Sir Howard kept his smile, taking a sip of tea from a cup on his table. Behind him are Ori Yashar, Richard William and Chris Adler. The 3 human combatants all frowned, clearly displeased with the condescending attitude from their so called allies.
Kronos leaned forward, "we agreed to work with you and your friend on the condition that you provide us your programmable genetic weapon to give us an advantage in the Dynasty's incoming power struggle."
"And we demand it now," he said aggressively.
Sir Howard grinned. "You all treated Vanguard as an expendable pawn in all of this. Their sole aim is to be a black glove that do the dirty works for us and create chaos. Now the product is done, what guarantee do I have that you won't treat us the same way?"
Kronos sneered, barely masking his disdain for humans.
"You are the one here that need our help to stay out of trouble, what position are you in to make demands?"
"The weapon," said a voice entering the room. Richard immediately snapped into attention and saluted the hooded human.
Sir Howard looked at Margaret entering after him, asking her why is he here, learning that she tried to convince him to remain hidden, but failed to do so.
Sir Howard laughed, telling the hooded man that everything is alright here.
Livia looked at the hooded man earnestly. "You must be the "friend" that Sir Howard has mentioned aren't you? The high ranking mole in UNSSD."

"Mole? You are funny," laughed Sir Howard. "This is," he said, introducing his friend.
His friend stopped him, removing his hood, shocking the Sellardraxians in the room.
"Director Nikola Kovac?!" exclaimed a shocked Kronos.
"WHAT?!!" exclaimed Maia in shock and fury.
Her fellow comrades are too, stunned by the revelation.

He cannot believe it, the Director of UNSSD, the leader of mankind against its enemies, domestic and extraterrestrial, the very man that unites fellow idealists like himself who will throw away their lives for the sake of mankind without a doubt.
Is the biggest traitor they are looking for.
