Capítulo 19: Tides Of Conflict: Clash With The Beast Pirates - Part 3

(Sai vs. 2nd Gifter)

The Beast Pirates' second fighter, Laila, descended the ship's rigging, her grin brimming with wicked anticipation. Her voluptuous and captivating figure was scantily clad, revealing more than it concealed.

Laila's clothes were audacious swatches of fabric that barely covered her generous, exceptionally total bust. The small attire gave way to a display of a second skin—iridescent scales shimmering under the sun. They adorned her bare skin in a pattern reminiscent of a boa constrictor, vibrant in hues of gold and emerald.

Her Gifter abilities had transformed her into a deadly siren of the seas. As a Boa Boa no Mi user, she bore the predatory strength of a serpent, embodying an alluring mix of elegance and ferocity.

Sai, a proud warrior, faltered momentarily, his focus wavering. Laila's audacious attire proved an unexpected distraction. However, he was a martial artist, first and foremost, trained in the art of Hasshoken and armed with a robust grasp of armament Haki. The warrior's way called for the utmost discipline, and he couldn't afford to lose concentration in the face of an adversary, no matter the circumstances.

Mavis, observing the scene, saw Sai's struggle. She assessed the situation with a keen eye and a tactical mind. Over the den of the brewing storm and clashing weapons, she shouted, "Sai, remember your training! Her clothes are just a distraction. Focus on her movements, her eyes. Predict her actions."

Laila, in response, chuckled menacingly, her body coiling in preparation for an attack. "Aw, the pretty boy can't handle the sight of a little skin?" she teased, her voice sultry and mocking.

As Sai squared off against Laila, her alluring form distracted him, and her uncanny speed was hard to counter. It was as if she slithered around him, her strikes swift and deadly as a snake's. Each attempt to land a blow resulted in him clutching empty air while receiving another sharp blow in retaliation.

Sai gritted his teeth, pushing away the distractions. He refocused on Laila's predatory gaze, her coiling movements, and the tension in her muscles. He steeled his resolve, mentally reaffirming his purpose - protecting the ship and crew.

Amid their clash, Mavis' voice rang in his ears, "Sai, you need to focus! Don't let her distract you. Remember what you've practiced. Use your Hasshoken!"

Sai grunted, shaking off another attack. The words rang true in his ears. He was a master of the Hasshoken style, a formidable martial art that allowed him to send shockwaves through his opponents. But he had never faced an adversary as distracting and swift as Laila.

As the fight continued, Sai realized that relying on his Hasshoken wouldn't be enough. Laila was fast, her movements unpredictable and unnerving. He needed to anticipate her moves, not merely react to them.

"Sai, observe her!" Mavis called again, "Try to anticipate her next move. Feel the shift in the air, the change in her energy. That's Observation Haki."

Sai knew about Observation Haki. It was a form of Haki that allowed one to sense the presence, strength, and emotions of others and predict their moves to some extent. He had dabbled in it but never truly mastered it. Now, however, he had no choice. He needed to grasp this power in the middle of a life-and-death battle.

For a few moments, Sai stood still, eyes closed. He breathed deeply, trying to feel his surroundings and tap into Observation Haki's power. A few attempts yielded nothing, earning him more stinging blows from Laila's strikes.

"Don't give up, Sai!" Mavis encouraged, "Keep trying. Feel the world around you."

"Learning to use Haki in the middle of a fight? You must be desperate," Laila jeered, her laugh ringing in Sai's ears. Her body coiled, ready to strike. "Poor little boy, you're way out of your league."

Despite the harsh words, Sai didn't respond. His focus was inward, unswayed by the Gifter's taunts. He needed to block out all distractions, including Laila's voice.

Closing his eyes, Sai steadied his breathing. His heart pounded in his chest, but he had to calm it, to slow it down. He was more than his physical senses; he needed to tap into his spiritual essence, the core of his Haki.

As he immersed himself in this internal focus, the world outside became distant, muffled. The jeers and taunts faded until all that was left was his steady and calm heartbeat and the sensation of the world around him.

The air's movement, the ship's gentle sway, the distant sound of the sea, and, most importantly, the presence of Laila. He could feel her readiness, the tension in her muscles, the anticipation of her next strike.

He didn't hear her next taunt, didn't see her body coil for the strike. But he felt it, and he was ready when it came. He could sense the fluctuations in the air as Laila moved, the tremors as her constrictor body coiled for another strike. Sai steeled his resolve with a newfound determination, letting out a deep breath.

With his heightened awareness, Sai could dodge Laila's next strike, his body moving in sync with his newfound sense. A small gasp of surprise came from the crowd as he managed to land a solid hit against the agile Gifter, a punch infused with the power of his Hasshoken.

Despite the blow, Laila swiftly recovered, launching herself towards Sai again. This time, Sai was ready, using his enhanced perception to predict her swift, zig-zagging approach. As she neared, he struck, sending out a shockwave that landed squarely on her torso, sending her flying back.

As Sai barely managed to dodge Laila's quick strike, he used the opportunity to counterattack. The force of his Hasshoken collided with Laila, sending her slithering backward in surprise.

"What the..." Laila hissed, her eyes wide with shock. "No way! You couldn't have learned Observation Haki that quickly! That was just a fluke!"

Her words echoed around them, but Sai remained silent. His concentration was unwavering, focusing solely on his opponent and her movements. His body was beginning to understand the rhythm of the battle, his Observation Haki developing in tandem. He didn't know if it was enough, but he had no choice but to keep trying.

With Laila's words still hanging in the air, the fight continued. Sai's newfound perception helped him anticipate her next attack, and this time he was ready. His Hasshoken met Laila's rapid approach, and with a powerful shockwave, he knocked her back.

The Beast Pirates were relentless, swarming the Silver Wave in hordes. The crew fought valiantly, their determination and training paying off as they held their ground. Amidst the chaos of the battle, Gram stood out, a figure of calm and serenity.

(Soma vs. Half of the beast pirates)

As Gram fought from the skies and Theo locked horns with Zargo, Soma engaged with the other half of the Beast Pirates on the lower deck. His spoon and knife, extensions of his will, danced in the air, clashing against swords and axes. Amid this chaos, he activated his Devil Fruit power, the Food Food no Mi.

Suddenly, the air around him filled with the sweet and savory scents of different dishes. Various foodstuffs materialized, ranging from simple rice balls to complex, intricately decorated pastries. He swiftly turned these into projectiles, throwing them toward his enemies with speed and precision. The Beast Pirates found themselves baffled and overwhelmed, unable to react as they were bombarded with this unusual assault.

Just then, Soma's mind echoed Theo's words from a past conversation.

"Soma, remember Charlotte Katakuri from the Big Mom Pirates?" Theo had begun, his voice serious. Soma nodded, recognizing the name. Katakuri was infamous across the seas - a man with a bounty of over a billion berries and a Paramecia user like him.

"Katakuri had a Special Paramecia-type fruit, Mochi Mochi no Mi. He could create, control, and transform his body into a mochi at will. You might think it's similar to Logia, but it's not. He couldn't become intangible, but his mastery over his fruit was so advanced that he could react to and reshape his body from attacks almost instinctively," Theo explained, his eyes filled with a strange intensity. "I want you to think about that, Soma. Your fruit, the Food Food no Mi, is also a Special Paramecia. I believe you can reach a similar level of control."

Soma, amid the battle, let these words resonate within him. His ladle swiped through the air, releasing a flurry of sharp, hardened spaghetti strands that trapped a group of pirates. A swift upward motion sent them flying overboard; the crashing waves drowned their surprised yells.

"Alright, Katakuri," Soma muttered to himself, a spark of determination in his eyes. "Let's see how well I can follow in your footsteps."

As Soma's words hung in the air, he clenched his fists, his eyes flaring with resolve. With a swift movement, he stabbed his spoon into the ship's wooden deck. Instantly, the hardwood began to warp and soften, reshaping into a loaf of bread. Using the elasticity of the dough, he launched himself into the air, high above the crowd of Beast Pirates.

In the blink of an eye, his ladle twirled in his hand, and a torrent of sizzling hot oil splashed toward the enemies below. As it rained down, he swiftly followed up with a sprinkle of popcorn kernels. With contact, they popped into a cloud of fluff, obscuring the pirates' view.

"Popcorn Smoke Screen!" Soma shouted from above. He was trying to mimic Katakuri's ability to create and manipulate his food element in combat. Despite the differences in their abilities, the concept was the same - control and creativity.

As confusion reigned below, Soma didn't waste any time. He swiftly transitioned to his next move. His hands moved like a blur, creating a series of sharp, hardened-cracker shurikens. With a flick of his wrist, he sent them spinning toward his enemies. The air was filled with the sound of crackers whistling through the air and the cries of the pirates as they were hit.

"Cracker Barrage!" He declared, watching as his enemies scrambled for cover. He couldn't help but let out a slight smirk. The thrill of the battle, the energy in his veins, it was intoxicating.

Landing back on the deck, Soma swiftly picked his targets, a group of Beast Pirates charging towards him. As they approached, he crouched low, his hand touching the deck. Under his touch, the wood warped, softening and reshaping into sticky, stretchy mochi.

As the Beast Pirates stepped on the transformed deck, they found their feet sticking to the ground. To their surprise, Soma capitalized on the moment, launching a barrage of hardened bread rolls at them, knocking them off their feet.

"Mochi Trap, followed by Bread Bullet Blitz!" He exclaimed, feeling a rush of adrenaline. This was his way of fighting, his power. He was Soma, the cook of the Silver Wave pirates, and not one to be underestimated.

Through his fight, Soma remembered Katakuri, the lessons he had gleaned from his abilities. It wasn't just about creating food. It was about manipulating it, shaping it to his will, using it as both a weapon and a shield. It was a dance, a symphony of control and creativity.

And he was just getting started.

(Gram vs. Half of Beast Pirates)

Transforming into her hybrid form, her arms morphed into mighty ibis wings, feathers white as the clouds above. Her eyes sharpened, adopting the keen vision of the ibis, able to pick out even the smallest detail in the unrest. With a sudden push, she took to the air, the pirates below looking up in surprise and apprehension.

"Script of the Divine Wind!" Gram declared, her voice echoing over the sea. A papyrus and pen materialized before her, glowing with a mystical aura. With deft movements, she wrote upon the papyrus. As her pen traced the final word, a gust of wind swept the ship, knocking many pirates off their feet.

She continued her aerial assault, swooping down to pick off the pirates one by one with her sharp beak while maintaining her distance. "Hieroglyphic Barrage!" Gram called out, writing swiftly on her papyrus. As she finished, a swarm of ethereal ibises manifested, dive-bombing the disoriented pirates.

The battlefield was painted with images of Gram swooping and striking, her hybrid form proving advantageous in the face of the enemy onslaught. She used her powers effectively, the Sacred Scribe providing additional support as she directed the flow of the battle with her writings.

It was a spectacle, Gram's prowess with her Mythological Zoan devil fruit on full display. Her strategy and mastery of her abilities showed the depth of her strength, proving she was a formidable opponent for the Beast Pirates. And yet, the battle was far from over. As Gram continued to hold her ground, the rest of the Silver Wave's crew fought on. Their resolve was unyielding, their spirit unbroken. Together, they would face the Beast Pirates, come what may.
