Capítulo 34: Question In The Dungeon

"How bold." Ivan's response to her question held a bit of arrogance, and he raised an inquiring brow at Samantha, who felt a cold shiver graze her lower back. The look in his eyes was contemplative, but for some peculiar reason, it made Samantha gulp down her anxiety.

"Why did I save you? Why did I save you when I could have easily killed you alongside your Father? Hmmm, let me see, No, I didn't save you in the first place." Ivan corrected as a matter-of-fact. "What I did was merely to keep you alive, cause in the absence of your late Father, I still need his children to tell me where he hid the mystic orb."

As expected, the accusation in his tone was unwavering. Samantha, who was still negatively affected by his condemnatory resonance, looked elsewhere while her shaky fingers grabbed onto the bed sheet - the stinging pain in her heart was one that would take time to heal. She wasn't sure when, or how long it would take, but people do say time mends a broken soul, right?
