[THE DAY AFTER]

Sunlight streamed through small gaps in Yukio's wooden walls, casting a warm glow in the dimly lit room. Birds chirped cheerfully outside, riding the autumn breeze that swept through Okami Village.

Little Damien and Sachi lay curled up under their blankets, still lost in dreams. The gentle sound of bubbling soup filled the room, the aroma drifting through the air. The soft clinking of a wooden spoon against the pot stirred Damien and Sachi from their slumber.

Yukio sat by the fire, stirring the simmering soup, steam curling around his face. He glanced over his shoulder as the children began to stir.

"Morning," Yukio greeted, his voice gentle yet firm. "Time to wake up, or you'll miss breakfast. It's almost noon."

Damien rubbed his eyes, sitting up and stretching. "Good morning, Yukio," he replied, shuffling over to sit next to Yukio.
