Witches were nefarious beings born of dark magic and were notorious for their habit of hexing anyone who dared to approach their dwelling.

Unlike most magic users, witches weren't particularly gifted with destructive spells. Instead, they relied on old curses to jinx their enemies or morph them into bestial forms.

Xander had never encountered a witch before, though he had heard several tall tales about these beings from the other Dreamwalkers at the guild. However, in all his years, he had never heard of anyone bumping into a witch in a Dreamscape.

Malevolent beings like witches and hags belonged in the Nightscape. They were not supposed to inhabit the realm of dreams, much like how pixies and sprites weren't supposed to roam the Nightscape.
