Ever since he returned Liam had made sure his mother and his wife didn't intersect. He did this by restricting his wife's movements. He made sure that Selena wouldn't cross paths with her confining her to their wing of the palace. For some time, it worked but his mother eventually lost her patience. Driven by the voices in her head she sat down at her writing desk, the flickering candlelight casting a warm glow across the parchment as she dipped her quill into the inkwell.
Her hand trembled slightly as she began to write, her heart heavy with conflicting emotions.
"My dearest Selena," she penned, her elegant script flowing across the page, "I hope this message finds you well. It weighs heavily on my heart to admit the errors of my past, and the rift that has grown between us. I write to you now with a sincere desire for reconciliation, for the sake of our family's unity and for the happiness of my son, Liam."
