Astrid was adamant about not letting any more of his mages get taken out.

The previous attacks taught him that not only was the group familiar with the terrain, but they were also skilled at escaping quickly and avoiding capture, keeping their element of surprise intact.

Astrid had a bad feeling that if he spread out his mages again, it would only result in more casualties.

The Barrier Mage was already injured, and it was evident that it would require a significant amount of healing resources to bring him back to full health.

Fortunately, Kethra had provided them with some resources, so it shouldn't be too much of an issue for the barrier Mage to recover fully.

However, many mages preferred to heal naturally rather than using resources to expedite the process.
