Capítulo 17: 17 - Laid Back & Ambush Goblin
Goblin after Goblin met their end to the Skeleton Wolf without much of any resistance.
Allowing Victor and Michael to rest and recover to full strength as they both watched.
Using this time Victor went over the information of his summons trying to think of a way to increase their level without any Magic Books about death or Undeath.
Thinking back to what he has read or learnt whether that be from poetry, movies or from books, Victor opened his notepad and wrote down all of the things he could think of about death.
But it didn't help much as even though he knew somethings he didn't understand them.
So instead he watched his Skeleton Summons and tried to recreate that feeling he had earlier.
But once again he didn't have a deep understanding of Magic let alone death so Victor failed.
Thinking of what else he could do Victor pulled out the Grimoire and opened it to see if he could find anything else.

Seeing this information Victor got a better grasp of his Summons and also became happy that the Grimoire gave a proper explanation of his Undead Summons.
This also allowed Victor to know the future use and development of his current Undead. And this also showed that he could advance his understanding of Death and Undeath.
Using this period of peace with the Skeleton Wolf taking care of everything Victor checked the amount of Souls he had collected so far.

'5.75? I've only killed 5 Goblins so far..' Victor thought as he saw this and tried to think of where the other 0.75 came from.
"Wait didn't you say you got 25% of a Soul earlier?" Victor asked Michael who was currently stuffing his face with food.
"Umm yeah" Michael replied with mouth full of rice.
"hmm..." Victor thought of this and came to the conclusion that he got 75% of each Soul Michael got.
But that only left him with one Question why did Michael have the ability to absorb Souls?
Victor was brought out of his thoughts as the 5th wave of Goblins were killed.
As the sixth Summoning Circle changed becoming larger as a stronger Mana radiated from Circle.

This change caught both Michael's and Victor's attention.
"Huh, two Ambush Goblins?" Michael spoke as he got up and stretched.
"So the Goblins got stronger after five waves." Victor spoke as his Summons ran forwards.
These Goblins looked the same as the other ones but with slightly a darker green skin and instead of wearing a single dirty loincloth, these Ambush Goblins were wearing a leather loincloth.
The other big difference was in weapons as instead of a poorly made stone knife they both had rusty Iron Daggers with chips and a uneven edge that would rip more than cut.
Luckily for both Victor and Michael these two Ambush Goblins weren't much different from regular Goblin's outside of being faster and stronger.
And the two Goblins strongest strength was in ambushing their prey, so their greatest advantage was gone even before the battle began.
This time Victor didn't let the Skeleton Wolf attack straight away but let it wait as the Skeletons this time five for each Goblin went forwards first.
And as expected they really aren't made for combat...
Right as the first Skeleton got within reach it slowly grabbed forwards but was dodged easily as the Ambush Goblin backed away before slashing at the outstretched bone arm.
"Clang!" The rusty Iron Dagger hit the arm dead on and sent cracks though the arm in only one attack, damaging the skeleton.
And the force sent the arm flying away as it broke up into the individual bones.
However this only hindered the Skeleton as it still continued but this time the four other Skeletons had arrived and attacked as well.
They surrounding the Goblin and not giving it any chance or room to retreat.
A similar situation happened with the other Goblin but Victor knowing that a Ambush Goblin coul easily overpower his weak skeletons.
He controlled four of the Skeletons to grab a arm or leg each as the fifth pushed down the Goblin's body.
Effectively stopping the Goblins from being able to exert much of any strength to escape.
Using this chance Victor ordered the Skeleton Wolf to attack and kill one of the Goblins as quickly as possible.
While Michael bored walked forwards to the other and stabbed his sword into the second Goblin's throat killing it.

"10 points? So it went up by ten times." Victor became interested at this large increase.
"Hey what are these points for anyway?" Michael asked as he tried to pick up a Rusty Iron Dagger only for it and the two Goblins to disappear into particles of Mana.
"Well if my guess is right then the more points we get the better the rewards." Victor said as he thought of a better way to kill the next wave of Goblins.
But thinking back to how Michael could absorb Souls Victor couldn't help but check his status.

"WHAT THE HELL!?!" Victor's face and mood which rarely fluctuated changed rapidly into one of shock and disbelief upon seeing Michael's status that had gone through a huge upgrade.
"Huh, What?" Michael confused asked as he paused eating a sandwich.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN 'HUH?' HAVEN'T YOU LOOKED AT YOUR STATUS?!?" Victor asked as he couldn't believe that Michael hadn't even checked his own information.
"What's there to check? I haven't leveled up... WHAT THE FREAKING HELL!" As Michael spoke he finally checked his own info and upon seeing all of his new and changed skills he had the same reaction as Victor.
