"Ethan!
Ethan!
Come out you bastard I know you can hear me!".
Quin's furious voice echoed down the halls, his wrath palpable in the air. The rest of the heroes scurried behind him, struggling to keep up with his furious pace.
The tension was thick as Quin stormed towards Ethan's door. He kicked it open with a resounding crash, his eyes darting around the room in search of his target.
"Where are you?!" He thundered, his anger boiling over. But before he could even take another step, he froze in his tracks.
There, standing calmly in front of the door, was Ethan.
The room fell silent as the two men locked eyes. Quin's rage simmered just beneath the surface, threatening to erupt at any moment. Ethan, on the other hand, appeared almost serene, as if he had been expecting this confrontation all along.
For a few tense seconds, the two men simply stood there, neither one willing to make the first move.
Finally, Quin spoke, his voice low and dangerous. "You know why I'm here." He growled. "I didn't take you for the type to molest women".
Ethan's expression remained unchanged, but there was a glint in his eye that spoke volumes. "Molest…women?" He repeated calmly. "I don't think I understand what you are talking about?".
Quin's fists clenched tightly at his sides, his muscles rippling with tension as he took a step forward. His eyes blazed with fury while he confronted Ethan with a voice low and dangerous.
"I'll ask you this once… did you sexually abuse your priestess?" He demanded, his words ringing through the air.
Ethan's expression remained calm, but there was a hint of unease in his eyes as he replied. "I don't know what you're talking about. You must have me confused with someone else…".
Quin's patience snapped at the response. In a flash, he sent a massive blow to Ethan's face, his fist connecting with a sickening thud. Ethan crumpled to the ground, blood streaming from his nose and mouth.
The room fell silent as the other heroes looked on in shock. Quin stood over Ethan's fallen form, his breathing heavy as he glared down at him.
"You lying son of a bitch!" He spat, his voice trembling with rage. "You've been playing us all for fools. But not anymore!".
Ethan groaned in pain as he struggled to rise, his hands clenched tightly to his injured face. "Ahhh, I still don't know what you're talking about," He muttered, his words punctuated by a wince of pain.
Quin's anger boiled over once again, his fists clenched tightly as he prepared to deliver another punishing blow. But before he could act, Bali stepped in, holding him from behind and pulling him away from Ethan.
"That's enough, Quin!" Bali exclaimed, his voice firm but soothing. "You don't have to kill him to prove anything".
Quin's breathing was heavy as he struggled against Bali's grip, his eyes fixed on Ethan with barely-contained fury. "He's a lying piece of shit," He spat, his words dripping with venom. "He deserves everything he gets."
Bali's grip tightened, his muscles bulging as he tried to restrain Quin. "We need to think this through," He said, his voice calm and measured. "We need to find out the truth and deal with this situation properly."
In the midst of the chaos, a figure darted into the room, moving with swift, purposeful strides. It was Aiko, and she immediately made her way towards Ethan, her expression one of deep concern.
"Ethan!" She called out, her voice ringing with worry. Kneeling down in front of him, she pulled out a napkin from her pouch and began to gently dab at the blood on his face. "Look at you, you're bleeding!".
Ethan winced in pain as she touched his injured cheek, but he did not pull away. Instead, he allowed her to tend to him.
Quin's voice echoed through the room, "Aiko! Are you really defending this asshole!" He yelled, his face twisted with anger.
Aiko turned her gaze to Quin, her eyes blazing with determination, "Yes I am, for starters, you are acting extremely weird, almost like you are desperately trying to make him the villain here."
"That's because he is!" Quin bellowed, his voice echoing through the halls.
Ethan let out a sigh and pushed himself up from the ground. Blood was still visible on his nose, a result of Quin's earlier attack. He walked towards Quin, his eyes locked on Quin's.
"You've got something to say, then say it!" Quin shouted, his fists clenched at his sides.
Without warning, Ethan raised his fist and landed a powerful punch to Quin's face. The force of the blow sent Quin sprawling to the ground, his eyes closing as he lost consciousness. The entire room fell silent as Gabi entered, her eyes widening in shock at the sight before her.
"Dude, what the hell?!" Beli yelled, staring at Ethan with a mix of shock and disbelief.
Elena immediately rushed over to Quin's side to check on him, while Gabi stood frozen in shock, trying to process what had just happened.
"He's…out." Elena said, kneeling next to Quin's unconscious body and checking his pulse.
Veronica followed closely behind, letting out a deep laugh, "Ha! Looks like he only needed one punch to take him down! Oh boy, that was fun to watch, not gonna lie!".
Ethan turned to face Aiko, who was still trying to comprehend the situation, and gave her a smug grin with a thumbs up.
She looked back at him with a bewildered expression, unable to understand how he had managed to knock out someone as strong as Quin with just one punch.
"Enough!" Bali's voice boomed, cutting through the tension in the room. "We need to figure out what happened here, I'll go speak to the king first thing tomorrow morning, that is better than fighting amongst ourselves, and that's something, coming from a thug."
The room fell silent as everyone turned to Bali, nodding in agreement. One by one they started leaving the room. Only Aiko stayed behind, still shocked by what she witnessed.
