I went inside the lounge to find Cyril sitting alone "Come on, follow me," I said, my eyes twinkling with excitement.
Cyril furrowed his brow, curiosity burning in his eyes. "Where are you taking me?" he asked, his voice filled with caution.
"Follow me, and you'll find out," I teased, beckoning him to walk alongside me. Together, we walked behind the maid who came to take me to the princess, we meandered through the halls bustling with people.
Cyril looked confused but followed me, his excitement grew palpable as we approached the majestic entrance of the palace. "Tell me we're not actually going into the palace," he said, his voice tinged with disbelief and thrill.
I smirked, glancing at him from the corner of my eye. "Oh, we most certainly are," I replied, my tone brimming with mischief and confidence.
"How?" Cyril asked, his eyes wide with wonder.
Arianna leaned closer to him, as it was hard to hear with the lively chatter of the guests. "The princess sent for me," I revealed, "And I have a feeling that with a little discretion, no one will even notice if you follow me and stay by my side."
Cyril's gratitude filled his words as he thanked me. "Thank you," he said, a mix of surprise and curiosity evident in his voice.
"But why are you helping me? We only just met today. A girl as beautiful as you couldn't possibly have fallen for me. So, what's the real reason?"
My eyes softened, at his skepticism. "You're right," I admitted. "We may have only met today, but in that short time, I've seen glimpses of your genuine goodness. Sometimes, it's just a feeling you can't ignore. And maybe, just maybe, I believe in giving people a chance to show who they truly are."
"Thank you." he said his eyes filled with gratitude.
The vast space of the great hall was transformed into a realm of fairy tales and dreams, adorned in a symphony of colors and shimmering lights, celebrating the birthday of the princess.
The ceiling was draped with cascading silk fabric, flowing in a myriad of hues that resembled a starlit sky.
Soft golden chandeliers hung like constellations, casting a warm glow that bathed the room in a magical ambiance.
Swirls of twinkling fairy lights were delicately entwined with lush greenery, giving the impression of a celestial garden suspended above.
Gilded mirrors framed with delicate vines reflected the beauty of the hall, multiplying the mesmerizing vision.
At the heart of the grand hall stood a towering crystal fountain, its waters cascading gently into a pool adorned with floating lilies.
Rainbow-colored koi fish swam gracefully, adding a touch of ethereal elegance.
The air was filled with the delicate scent of roses and jasmine, wafting from flower arrangements that adorned every corner, their vibrant petals showcasing the princess's favorite colors.
Tables draped in exquisite satin cloths were scattered throughout the hall, bearing lavish displays of confectionery delights.
Elaborate cakes, adorned with edible flowers and delicate sugar sculptures, were a feast for the eyes.
Trays of delectable pastries, shimmering macarons, and trays of chocolate truffles enticed the guests to indulge in the decadent treats.
A stage adorned with velvet curtains graced one end of the grand hall. A symphony of musicians played sweet melodies, their music filling the air with enchantment.
A dance floor beckoned guests to twirl and whirl in celebration, while elegant chandeliers overhead cast gentle reflections on the polished marble floor.
Cyril stopped moving, taking in the grand sight with his mouth open.
"i think you should close your mouth and act normal or you will be thrown out." I said nudging him with my elbow.
"Are you secretly a princess?" he asked, making me choke.
"What? Why would you ask that?"
"Well, you seem so unfazed by all of this..." he said pointing at the party.
"I am in awe; I am just masking it better than you." I said, turning away from him.
I increased my pace not wanting to get caught by him again.
"Hey! Thea" I turned as I was walking when I bumped into someone.
Before I could even comprehend what was happening a strong band of steel wrapped around my waist.
And I found myself staring at a pair of black eyes.
