Capítulo 3: I'll make you mine

James couldn't believe what was happening as he watched Emily stumbling towards his front door. He knew that this was not going to end well, and he braced himself for the worst.

Emily knocked on the door loudly, and James hesitated for a moment before opening it. She stumbled into his living room and threw herself onto his couch.

"What are you doing here, Emily?" James asked, trying to keep his voice steady.

"I came to see you, James," she slurred. "I miss you, and I want to be with you."

James sighed heavily. He had known that this was a possibility, but he had hoped that it wouldn't come to this. He had chosen Ava over Emily, and he had thought that Emily had understood that. Clearly, he had been wrong.

"Emily, you can't just show up here like this," he said firmly. "I'm with Ava now, and I can't be with you."

Emily's eyes narrowed, and she sat up straighter. "What, you think you can just choose between us like that? You're such a jerk, James."

James felt his temper rising. He had tried to be kind to Emily, but she was making it impossible for him to be patient any longer.

"Emily, you need to leave," he said firmly. "I can't have you here when I'm with Ava. It's not fair to her, and it's not fair to you."

Emily stood up and glared at him. "Fine, James. If that's how you feel, then I guess I'll just go. But don't think that this is over. You'll regret choosing Ava over me."

With that, Emily stormed out of James' house, slamming the door behind her. James sighed heavily and ran his hand through his hair. He knew that he had made the right choice by choosing Ava, but he also knew that it was going to be difficult to deal with Emily's anger and jealousy in the weeks and months to come.

He could only hope that things would work out with Ava, and that they would be able to move forward and build a happy life together.

James watched as Emily stormed out of his house, feeling a mix of relief and guilt. He knew that he had made the right choice by choosing Ava, but he also felt bad for hurting Emily.

As he tried to shake off his feelings, James heard his phone ringing. He looked down to see that it was Ava, and he answered quickly.

"Hey, Ava," he said, trying to sound calm.

"James, are you okay?" Ava asked, concern lacing her voice.

James sighed. "Emily just showed up at my house, drunk and angry," he said, explaining what had happened.

Ava was quiet for a moment, processing the information. "I'm sorry that you had to deal with that," she said finally. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," James said, although he didn't feel fine at all. "I'm just worried about how this is going to affect things between you and Emily."

Ava was quiet for a moment before speaking. "Honestly, James, I don't care anymore. Emily has always been jealous of me, and I can't keep trying to make her happy at the expense of my own happiness. If she wants to end our relationship over this, that's her decision."

James felt a pang of sadness for Ava, knowing how much her relationship with her sister meant to her. "I'm sorry that this had to happen," he said softly.

"I'm just glad that I have you, James," Ava said, her voice softening. "We'll get through this together."

James smiled, feeling grateful for Ava's support. He knew that they had a lot of challenges ahead of them, but he was confident that they could overcome anything as long as they were together.

As he hung up the phone, James couldn't help but think about Emily and the pain that she must be feeling. He hoped that she would eventually come to understand that he had chosen Ava because he loved her, not because he wanted to hurt Emily.

But for now, all he could do was focus on building a future with Ava and putting the past behind them.

Ava was fuming as she drove over to Emily's apartment. She couldn't believe that her own sister would be so selfish and immature, and she was determined to confront her about it.

When Ava arrived at Emily's door, she could hear her sister crying inside. She took a deep breath and knocked on the door, trying to keep her voice steady.

"Emily, it's me, Ava," she said firmly. "We need to talk."

Emily opened the door, her eyes red and swollen from crying. "What do you want?" she asked bitterly.

"I want to know why you would do something like this," Ava said, her voice rising with anger. "You know how much James means to me, and yet you still tried to come between us. You even went to his house, drunk and out of control. Do you have any idea how embarrassing that was?"

Emily flinched at Ava's words, but her expression quickly hardened. "You're the one who's embarrassing, Ava," she said coldly. "You always get what you want, no matter who you hurt in the process. You've never cared about anyone but yourself."

Ava felt a surge of anger at Emily's words, but she forced herself to stay calm. "That's not true, Emily," she said firmly. "I care about you, and I always have. But I can't keep putting your feelings above my own. I love James, and I'm not going to give him up just because you're jealous."

Emily's eyes narrowed, and she took a step towards Ava. "You're a liar, Ava," she spat. "You've always been jealous of me, ever since we were kids. You can have James, but you'll never have my respect."

Ava felt tears prick at her eyes as she realized that her relationship with Emily might never be repaired. "If that's how you feel, Emily, then maybe it's better if we're not sisters anymore," she said quietly.

Emily's eyes widened in shock, and for a moment she seemed speechless. But then her expression hardened again, and she pushed Ava towards the door. "Get out of my apartment, Ava," she said coldly. "I don't want to see you again."

Ava nodded, feeling numb as she left Emily's apartment. She knew that breaking her relationship with her sister would be painful, but she also knew that she couldn't continue to be hurt by Emily's jealousy and anger.

As she got into her car, Ava felt tears streaming down her face. She knew that things would never be the same between her and Emily, but she also knew that she had to focus on building a new life with James and putting the past behind her.
