Chapter 16: The Duel
The Blood Demon Emperor and the Divine Dragon Emperor, both top-tier martial spirits, are also the most dangerous! Standing on the arena, Lu Xuan felt as excited as a rooster about to win a fight.

After all, he was a Great Spirit Master with two spirit rings challenging a mere First Ring Spirit Master.
If he couldn't win this, he might as well just give up.

There was no way they could defeat a teacher.

"Qi Ling, if you apologise to me now and write a public apology letter, I might still let this go."

Let's just get started," Qi Ling said nonchalantly.
"I don't have time for pointless chatter."
"You're a defiant one, aren't you? Fine! You won't shed a tear until you see the coffin!" Lu Xuan snapped, visibly irritated.
"If that's how you want it, then don't say I didn't warn you! Martial Spirit, Shadow Wolf, Possess!"
As Lu Xuan spoke, his martial spirit emerged, surrounded by a white and a yellow spirit ring, confirming his status as a Great Spirit Master.
Although the Shadow Wolf was a relatively common martial spirit, it was a highly effective agile attacker with impressive offensive capabilities.
With the Shadow Wolf possessing him, a thin layer of fur seemed to grow on Lu Xuan's body.
His hair turned grey, his eyes took on a beast-like shape, and his limbs and nails became more wolf-like, enhancing his speed and attack efficiency.
"First Spirit Ability,Extreme Speed!" Lu Xuan activated his first spirit ability as the white ring around him glowed and infused into his body.
"My first spirit ability increases my speed by 30% for a period of time," Lu Xuan said, moving rapidly around the arena.

"I mean, is this the best you can do?" Qi Ling clarified, still smiling.
"You should probably use all your abilities quickly or you might not get another chance."
"You arrogant brat! You're dead meat!" Enraged, Lu Xuan lunged at Qi Ling, claws extended.
Everyone watching gasped in shock.
Qi Ling hadn't even used his Spirit Possession yet! At such speed, there was no way he could block Lu Xuan's attack or so they thought.
To everyone's surprise, Qi Ling caught Lu Xuan's attack with ease.
His arm blocked the blow entirely, leaving him unscathed.
"Huh?" Tang San, who had been observing the fight closely, noticed something strange.
"Brother Qi's movements just now were really odd!"
"What's the matter, Little San? Did you notice something unusual?" Yu Xiaogang asked.
Tang San hesitated before replying, "It's just that Brother Qi seemed to move even before Teacher Lu did! That's why he was able to block the attack so effortlessly."
At that moment, the onlookers also noticed something else, Qi Ling's eyes had changed.
His originally black pupils had turned a striking golden colour, giving him an air of mystery and power.
This was the second trick Qi Ling had up his sleeve for Lu Xuan.
After absorbing the spirit ring the previous day, he had received a god-level ability from the system,the Golden Gaze Fiery Eyes.
This god-level ability had three stages, and Qi Ling had currently unlocked the first one.

This predictive power allowed him to easily block Lu Xuan's attack, even without using his martial spirit.
