Alden saw all of the information on the translucent holographic screen that appeared before his eyes. It happened in just a few seconds and Alden had barely known or even comprehended what was happening. Suddenly he stopped in midair before he had time to feel surprised his surroundings suddenly changed and he found himself back on the rooftop of the building.
Alden blinked numerous times and looked around like a madman. He was confused and scared. He could feel himself shivering as he thought about what had occurred. He had nearly died. His stupidity, hastiness, and emotional state of mind had all led to what had just occurred. He didn't know or understand how he had survived but he knew one thing, he wouldn't give up his life so easily a second time.
He had to try and change himself or die trying, and dying in the process was far from a pitiful death. He understood that more than ever. Alden let out a breath of relief, he lay back on the floor of the building and stared at the blue sky.
"I never knew the sky was this pretty," Alden murmured before closing his eyes, allowing himself to rest for a moment. He had to, because after he left that building, there would be no rest and no sleep. Just work. He had to become strong.
For how could a weak man rest?

Alden was lying on his bed looking at his stats screen. he noticed something different when looking at it. The "CLASS" on his screen had changed to "CLASSES" and he not only had "PUPPETEER under his classes, but he also had "HACKER". Under "ABILITIES", he had acquired another ability called "HACKING". For new skills, he had acquired 3, "GLITCH (lv 1)", "REPLICATE (lv 1) and GRAVITY (lv 2).
Alden was, however, confused about something. Even though he had seen it for a short moment, he was sure that the skill "GRAVITY" was at level 6. He just guessed that maybe the system had decided that the skill was at a level too high for him.
Alden observed and noticed red dots on the "NOTIFICATIONS" button which was located on the bottom right of the screen. In the notifications, was a message that read:
[20 POINTS HAVE BEEN AWARDED TO THE USER AS A STARTING GIFT.]
"Points? Maybe I can use them to improve my stats." Thought Alden before opening his stats screen. "Now, how can I use my free points"
After much deliberation, he decided to put most of the points into energy because since he was a puppeteer, it also seemed that his hacker abilities also relied on having a large amount of energy. After updating his stats, it read:
AGILITY: 6
STRENGTH: 6
DURABILITY: 6
ENERGY: 21
STAMINA: 6
POINTS: 0
Alden felt satisfied seeing his stats. He sort of figured out what had happened to him. He was a dual-class Ranger. It was something that rarely happened and the chances were 1 in 100 000. For the first time in his life, Alden felt he was truly lucky. He didn't understand the rewards though, since a Ranger barely got any level-up points and there were very low chances of them managing to improve their grading or level. Sometimes even years of training changed nothing.
Alden understood that this Hacker class was a special class, and he was fortunate to have it. It would make his job of leveling up easy. If they had just given him free points he was sure they would probably give him more, maybe as rewards for missions. Thinking about that, he immediately clicked on "MISSIONS". He found 2 missions awaiting him:
[MISSION ALERT!]
RUN 500 MILES
1500 SIT-UPS
1500 PUSH-UPS
1500 PULL-UPS
MISSION COMPLETION TIME: 30 DAYS
PENALTY FOR FAILURE: -10 POINTS.
REWARD: 60 POINTS.
COMPULSORY MISSION
[MISSION ALERT!]
FOLLOW THE MAP, ENTER THE HIDDEN DUNGEON, AND KILL THE BOSS.
FAILURE: NIL
REWARD: ONE RANDOM SKILL; ONE CONSUMABLE SKILL; 30 POINTS
ACCEPT/DECLINE
A wide smile appeared on Alden's face as he saw the sumptuous rewards for completing the missions, he understood that the missions were not easy but at this point, he had already understood, there is no return without investment. The pain he felt was the weakness leaving his body. The cruelty of the tortures he experienced would be the hammer that shaped the weapon that Alden would become. An indomitable weapon that slays those before it, and protects those behind it.
The first step to becoming that weapon would be accepting and completing these missions. Alden knew what he needed to do, and raised his hand to accept the mission.
