The King stared at Lucius's back as he walked out of the room, his expression complicated. It had been weeks since he talked to the Duke, and somehow, the changes were too extreme.
Earlier, the Duke talked about his dreams, the nightmares, and hallucinations that started after Sorceress Michaela was imprisoned. Lucius said that all of the servants could attest to this.
"What did our people find out?" the King inquired of one of his trusted knights. Since he decided to constantly monitor Lucius's actions, he naturally had people around Lucius almost all the time. The knight immediately began telling the king about what had happened in the past few days.
"He must have gone insane…" The King smirked. This was not the Lucius that he knew. However, he also understood that Lucius had been betrayed, and his mind must have been muddled by that sorceress Michaela. It seemed that the humans had a bigger appetite than he originally thought.
