The next day some of the pack gathered inside our cottage, ready to plot our way out of this stupid investigation. Because let’s be honest, this had nothing to do with the fact that I was a witch, but everything to do with Cole wanting me back.

And once again I found myself wanting to knock something over my head for not knowing how to properly accept his rejection when I had the chance…

Chris and Sara joined us, surprisingly missing Pax. However, when I asked where she was, Chris growled and stormed by me to the kitchen, while Sara mouthed “later” with a worried look on her face as she threw glances at her master. Nathan and Paulina joined us shortly after since they were essential players in the pack; Nathan was the head enforcer and Paulina was the head housekeeper. Ned would join us the second he could get rid of “the wannabe alpha bitch”, as he put it.

Well, at least the man had a sense of humor about it…
