96% Seimeigakure: The Hidden Village of Life / Chapter 167: Three to Four

Capítulo 167: Three to Four

It's been almost a week since the proposal from the Tsuchikage arrived, and finally, the Raikage, the Kazekage, and I could gather.

The matter was significant enough for the Kages to travel personally to address it face to face and leave subordinates to continue seizing lands in the Land of Fire, demonstrating the level of interest in this particular issue.

After hearing the details, Temari practically accepted without saying much more, just a few conditions for her village to gain some additional benefits from Iwagakure related to trade and the border.

Is it just me, or does she seem happier lately?

It seems she managed to secure a good portion of the Land of Fire, although I haven't paid much attention to what happened to Konoha in recent days. Between the invasion of the two villages and the monumental task of rebuilding the village, they must be overwhelmed.

After finishing my call with Ameyuri (whose "toy" broke too quickly, according to her later account after some nocturnal activity), I quickly returned to my village to reflect on some kind of defense against Onoki's technique, preferably something that doesn't depend on chakra to ensure a stable energy supply.

I should also check what happened with the extremist Hyuga; hopefully, they stretched the truth, and with them, some parents of the children we have in the village survived, and we could try to recover them.

I'll have to ask Anko and Hinata to send their scout snakes to take a look around to stay informed; scorpions are a bit too unusual around Konoha unless they come from the Forest of Death, and the Aburame clan could distinguish their traits if they notice them.

We need more adults, and I won't start cloning for a temporary need!

The children might misinterpret some things if I later dismiss the temporary clones who took care of them as if nothing happened...

The Raikage was a different story; although he seemed to realize that accepting Kurotsuchi's joining us was actually the best plan to develop and stabilize the situation, the resentment between Iwagakure and Kumogakure is on another level.

After all, the Third Raikage (who is the father of the current Raikage) died facing ten thousand Iwagakure ninjas for three days and three nights to allow his comrades to retreat successfully.

Although Onoki has now passed to the Pure Land, and I suspect he will return, that's not enough for that resentment to dissipate. Especially when the person in charge and wanting to join turned out to be Onoki's granddaughter.

It was a complete headache to convince him.

And it's not that he accepted the conditions; he just agreed to let Kurotsuchi come so we could all talk face to face!

That is, we managed to give her at least a chance to negotiate.

I think as long as she doesn't make scandalous demands, Kurotsuchi should be able to join the alliance without too many problems. Now the best result she can ask for is to keep what they have, and maybe, if she can convince Temari to support her, she could even get something from the lands in the northwest of the Land of Fire.

Hmm, I think it's appropriate to have Mabui advise her boss a bit about possible limits. The Raikage will ask for some kind of compensation, but as long as he doesn't cross the line, everything will be fine.

It's better not to come to blows when the world's main Kages gather.

Did I forget about Kakashi? Oh, right, let's say I forgot about him.

Is he still alive?

Should I take Obito's Sharingan away so he doesn't have the pair again?

Maybe after the "Pain" attack on Konoha, he'll hang up the hat, and they'll call someone else? It's not like there's much of a village left to command...

Would that be considered cutting Naruto's dream of becoming Hokage?

If Konoha doesn't exist, then the position and the hat are worth little more than a costume...

—By the way, Enel —Temari called me later— the Wind Daimyo wanted to know if you have any information about the death of the Fire Daimyo; apparently, they killed him again, and this time they did it in a quite creative way —she finished with a disgusted grimace, apparently remembering the information she read, at least that's what I deduce.

Ameyuri had a great time from what I understand; she even took the good torture tools for the occasion! Maybe that's why the Daimyo didn't last long...

Although I asked her to spare me the details.

—The Fire Daimyo died again? —I raised an eyebrow while doing my best act of indifference to the news, as if it were a conversation about the weather— Who succeeds him this time?

Temari may have realized my act or not, but the point is, if she did, she played along, and she didn't seem to care too much about the fate of someone outside her area.

—Due to the state in which they found him (or what was left of him), it seems that the nobles have been much more restrained with their attempts to seize the position, in fact, many just turned a blind eye, carrying on with their lives and happy as they are —she explained while shrugging— So the nobility of the Land of Fire is in chaos, and since Konoha was attacked by the leader of Akatsuki, it seems that the luck they had for so many years has finally run out.

—Yes, it's an impressive coincidence —I nodded several times— But I guess that's not the only reason you came?

—Can't I just want to talk with you for a while?

My response was Saitama's face.

—Tch, fine! —she sighed seeing that I had caught her intention— I wanted to ask if we could expand the forest of Sunagakure; we've managed to stabilize the ecosystem and keep the sand at bay, and now that we have more resources at our disposal, we want to continue improving the terrain without having to wait for centuries. Can you provide us with a budget?

—I don't think it's a problem, although we'll have to postpone it temporarily.

—Do you have any problem with me helping?

I know she's not just saying it to be able to do what she asked, so I appreciate the gesture.

—Well, it's complicated —I couldn't tell her that I suspect Orochimaru might show up to bombard my village with square laser beams— Remember that the Tsuchikage's requirement is to hunt down Orochimaru?

—It's hard to forget; it's one of the few points she practically demands unconditionally —Temari nodded.

—Well, I also have reasons why I want him to disappear as soon as possible —I said summarily— Both him and his assistant, Kabuto, as well as a man named Obito Uchiha who impersonates Madara Uchiha. He's the Tobi from the Akatsuki information I gave back then, remember? The one with the orange one-eyed mask.

—Seriously? —she looked at me with surprise— Who expects anyone to believe he's Madara Uchiha? That's so stupid!

Oh, girl, you have no idea.

—So... could you give me a few kilos of apples?

—Sure!
