Capítulo 133: Turning Weakness into Strength

I still have my doubts about whether I did the right thing.

I know it's impossible for them to scrutinize her memory as the heir of the Hyuga clan, and with Danzo dead, but it could be considered that I am relying on Hinata's determined character, on how Anko has influenced her, and... on how she feels.

I still don't know how to face that part, but at least I don't think she'll fail us.

—Dad, I don't think you did anything wrong —Nemu has been trying to cheer me up, but I think what I need is time to see the results of my decision.

—How are the preparations for the Three Kages' meeting going? —I asked Shizune, trying to distract myself a bit.

—Everyone agreed and is on their way, since they have to travel discreetly, they are expected to arrive within three days —Shizune reported while holding a den den mushi in her hand— Although the teacher said she wants to take a few days off and visit the hot springs in the Land of Hot Water.

—Remind her to bring some souvenirs for Fu or she'll have to endure her wrath —I joked, because it had happened more than once.

—I already did, she promised to bring something for everyone —Shizune assured with a smile— Universal capsules make everything easier.

—Well, do we know who will be on each side? —I'm sure of who the majority will be, but I still have some doubts.

—From Sunagakure, accompanying the new Kazekage Temari, advisers Chiyo and Ebizo will join —Shizune replied.

—From Kumogakure, accompanying Raikage A, Mabui and Samui will join —Nemu added.

Yes, I already figured that Darui wouldn't come in the end.

—So, did they give the Bara Bara fruit to Samui? —I pondered— That's a relief...

—Why? —curious, Shizune asked.

—Well, I thought about it later, but if they had considered giving the fruit to Yugito, it would have gone against my idea to prevent another jinchuriki from having the power of the fruit —I confessed honestly— So, I just thought I wanted to prevent Killer B from eating the fruit and completely forgot about Yugito.

In the series, Yugito has even less presence than Fu, so I sometimes forget she exists.

That was an honest mistake, but I'm glad neither the Raikage nor Mabui (although that did surprise me) noticed that gap and limited themselves to thinking of a standard kunoichi.

Maybe it's because of how I spoke, or perhaps Yugito wasn't in the village at that time?

—What do you think the chances of success are for this three-way alliance? —I asked both of them.

—It will depend on two factors: how much they can accomplish and how much ambition they have —Nemu determined, narrowing her eyes— Personally, I consider that Sunagakure is already lucky to be able to enter this alliance in its current state, and it wouldn't be realistic for them to expect the same gains as Kumogakure. If it weren't for the fact that we don't need land, they would get even less than that.

—And yet, they've already gained a lot with the new cargo ships, the sea route, and everything else provided to stabilize Temari's position —Shizune also added her two cents— Plus, there's still that point to determine...

—What will be the main objective of the alliance —I finished for her— Due to the geographical distribution, the ideal would be to conquer the land of the Land of Fire since it is the most fertile and resource-rich, which interests both, but Kirigakure and Iwagakure will not stand idly by without getting a piece of the pie, and the Fourth Great Ninja War would break out.

—So, do we first have to deal with one of those two villages? —Shizune raised a thoughtful eyebrow.

The truth is that the goal is quite easy to determine given the current overall world situation —I pointed out casually because it was seriously evident— If we want to expand resources and gains, the best way to start would be to deal with Kirigakure.

—Wouldn't it be Iwagakure? —clearly, my answer wasn't what Shizune expected, so I explained it to her.

—Think of it this way: Konoha currently needs stability and won't want to get involved in any conflict until, at the very least, they have an official Fifth Hokage, and with the disappearance of the Fire Daimyo, that will take some time.

Shizune nodded, paying attention to my words.

—If Kumogakure and Sunagakure were to attack the Land of Earth, Iwagakure would take strong measures and might ally (temporarily) with Konoha and Takigakure to receive supplies, all to ensure they maintain the current status quo. But if Kirigakure is the target, everything is different.

—How is that? —Shizune asked, suddenly puzzled.

In the case that Kumogakure and Sunagakure were to attack the Land of Water, Kirigakure would be left alone to face a two-pronged attack. They couldn't get support from the Land of Waves because they would be in Sunagakure's attack route, nor from the Land of Lightning for the same reason with Kumogakure, and that would leave only the coasts of the Land of Fire for Konoha, which wouldn't help their situation.

—Couldn't they send supplies like with Iwagakure?

—No, they can't and won't dare —I pointed out clearly— Because they will be busy trying to prevent anyone from invading them from the moment the attack begins. They'll have to worry that Iwagakure doesn't take advantage of the focus to make skirmish attacks or that any of the other villages decides to bring the conflict to their territory. That makes Iwagakure unable to join in the fun, but since neither Sunagakure nor Kumogakure would put all their forces into the attack and can keep the borders, this effectively isolates them from the conflict. At least, for long enough.

—So, Iwagakure can only stand by while Konoha will be completely alert, not daring to come out of its shell because they won't know when someone will attack by surprise —Shizune suddenly understood— This will cause an illusion of threat, but Sunagakure and Kumogakure never intended to attack them. They just need to send a couple of squads to maintain the illusion and they can focus on attacking Kirigakure, which won't be able to receive any support from the outside.

—And the only part to worry about is that the terrain and weather play in their favor —Nemu added— But the weather is something we can change, and once Sunagakure and Kumogakure land in the Land of Water, it will become a desperate struggle for survival.

—Add the fact that they have no biju for deterrence —I reminded them.

Utakata is currently living his life as a wanderer, and the Three-Tails that died with Rin's death is still in a lake in the Land of Waves, calm and hidden.

Too bad I can't be a jinchuriki and solve the chakra network problem by absorbing it; otherwise, it would be great to combine the powers I have with Isobu's water techniques.

And I don't know if I would still be immune to the Sharingan's Genjutsu if that happened, so...

Also, I still want to hear Ameyuri's opinion before bringing up this issue since her parents' house is still there. And her parents.

—And why has Kirigakure never worried that this situation would occur? —Shizune asked, puzzled.

I turned visibly to look at her.

—What chances do you think there are that the villages of Sunagakure and Kumogakure, with their history (and with Rasa), would collaborate (honestly) without our intervention? —I asked her rhetorically— None, that's why they've never had to worry about that particular scenario. Their geographical distance is precisely the weak point that will turn into a strong one for a pincer attack.
