Sire walked deeper into the woods. She sensed Nathan wasn't behind her anymore yet she continued going.
The energy she'd sense wasn't too far. If she went now she would find it. It wouldn't harm her. It was minor that she knew.
She dropped her cloak, letting it cover her feet. Now she stood in the middle of the woods. She looked around her. Trying her hardest to sight the lightest of movements in the woods in front, beside, and behind her. The darkness was thick and even the largest army could take cover there without being discovered. She clenched her fist in determination.
Ever since she left home, one thing she hadn't done was summon energy. She hadn't even tried, knowing she was weak. With her eyes closed she let all sensation pass through her as the breeze passed her, pushing back her golden locks of hair.
Slowly, she brought out her hand,Sire let out a deep breath before pushing forth the energy. In her hand came a golden like light. A certain wind circulating her as the front locks of her hair glowed with that same golden color. Soon came the energy, her vision was clearing up.
The dark energy was emerging from the darkness behind her. With a little smile she turned and quenched the light. Just when the energy threw itself at her.
A demon.
Just as she'd expected. Not blinking or moving and inch from where she stood,Sire reached out and placed her hand on its chest. Pushing it back with the force from the light she'd quenched.
The demon fell back with a groan as Sire closed her eyes. She retraced her hand and stood still for a few seconds. A smile formed at the corners of her lips as she approached the demon. Her golden eyes shone with excitement.
"Well hello there."She said bending over to get a clear sight of it. Her eyes widened at the sightof the little blue haired boy. He had a bleeding nose and wiped it as he sat up.
"You're no dinner girl. Your potentials aren't that of a high ranked demon." He said. Now Sire had a clear vision of him. He looked no older than ten. His hair was a dark blue. Short and covered his left aquqmarine eye.
Sire gasped lightly. "You're a boy." She said.
"Demon. A seven hundred year old demon." He corrected her.
"Well aren't you adorable." Sire bent over and pinched his cheek. There was a little spark and he flinched.
"I am not. I am dangerous and you should step away from me."
With this, the boys voice grew deeper and his eyes switched to a red color. A dark myst was surrounding them and he grew taller. He was changing to another form. Sire looked round her as the darkness enveloped her. She looked up into his red eyes. Then smiled. He stared back at her. A spark of confusion in his eyes.
His gaze immediately shifted and Sire turned with it. Before she could say a word something cut right below the side of her right eye and blood sipped out. The blade passed right through the myst of the demon.
"Nathan.." Sire said. She could tell it was him. She sensed him even before his scent grew stronger. She turned to him. "Don't hurt the demon. Please."
With Sire's pleading, Nathan couldn't help but let his guard down.
Sire turned back to the demon. Her eyes showed more of a confused expression when she noticed his face squeeze in sheer horror. He expressed pain.
"Are you.." And before she could finish her sentence he coughed. A bit of blackish blood trailing out his mouth and nostril. He staggered back. Sire's eyes went to his stomach. Were he held tightly. How was a demon bleeding?
It was then her eyes widened in realization. Nathan's blade had pierced him. Sire squat to his level. She made to help him but he stepped back. The pain was getting worse. She didn't mind him stepping away from her. Anytime he did,she moved closer.
"You're hurt." Her eyes expressed worry for the little demon. Sire stared up into the demons fading eyes. She froze at the realization of what he needed.
Hurriedly pulling up the sleeve of her cloak she offered him her wrist. The demon didn't hesitate. His lips parted and he sank his already elongated fangs in her wrist. The girl winced as he did.
Nathan stopped himself from moving anywhere close to where Sire was. She had made the decision and no matter how he wanted to interfere,he would hold back.
As the myst cleared the girl stepped up.She looked pale and blood sipped out of the cut by her eye.
Sire smiled faintly. "The demon lives." She said before losing balance.
