Next, Asher and Madelyn, the soon-to-be-married couple, made a toast to their guests. They visited each table, greeting everyone. The tables up front were filled with local bigwigs, stars, company old-timers, and major business partners.

Louis was supposed to be up front, but chose to sit with Alicia to keep her company. Their table also had some of their work friends.

The friends were all pretty impressed with Alicia, looking at her with a mix of jealousy and respect. They used to see Alicia as just a pretty girl from a poor family.
