"You'll love her, I promise," Nathaniel told Maya as he lifted their hands to his lips, kissing the back of her hand.
"I'm not worried if I'll like her," Maya confessed as she anxiously rubbed her fingers together. "I'm more worried that she won't like me."
Nathaniel looked at Maya, stunned that she would still think this way after all their time together.
He freed his hand from hers and held her by her hips, turning her toward him.
Maya looked down, choosing not to meet his gaze he lifted a hand to cup her cheek as he made her look him in the eyes.
"Maya, it's Angel that needs to earn your approval not the other way around, never the other way around," he hoped that his words were enough to convince Maya of that fact. "You are the woman I love, the mother of my children, I would burn the world for you and for them."
Her cheeks turned red at his declaration as a faint smile found its way to her lips.
