Chi Rui stared at his sister with a blank glaze, trying to assess what she meant by her words. If he did not go, the narrative out there would blacken their name. They were not thieves and no composer or singer would work with them if they were branded thieves. 

"What do you mean sister?" he asked her. 

"The lawyers should handle everything to do with Du Moxi. If you deny her allegations without proof you are just drawing more attention to the matter and giving her what she wants. Maintain your silence and let the law do all the talking. She is about to be hit by a lawsuit which will leave her penniless or close to it. Let's see how much she yaps when that happens." 

Even though Chi Lian's explanation made sense in so many ways, if Du Moxi pretended to commit suicide or did so they would be condemned by the public for going overboard. 

That's what he thought and it is exactly what he told her.
